My level experience was excellent. From the moment I arrived Oscar from concierge service took care of my every needs. He exudes customer service and brought my experience to another level literally. Sandra was also the best to accommodate my dietary requirements. She listened and gave me the support I needed. She is also great asset to Melia. My wife and I have stayed here several times. This is the first time we brought our kids. They are age 9 and 4 and they had a blast. We are from Missouri. Everything is so easy and relaxing at Melia in Cozumel. Rosa, Sandra, and Jorge are excellent. Everyone is great at the resort these were just a few i personally remember by first name.

Two weeks before visiting, we received a questionnaire asking about why we were coming there. Did we need assistance with transportation to and from the airport? Was it a special occasion. What was our favorite beverage and food? filled out the questionnaire and absolutely no response. When we got to the airport, absolutely no response from the hotel again decided to take a cab and after check-in sent an email to the address that the questionnaire came from. Their response was we don’t respond to the questionnaire and that it is just a formality prior to arrival. There was no hotel supplied transportation. Everything needed to be done via a taxi The food was mediocre similar to a high school cafeteria. Every time it rained it flooded the dining area to the point where they had to section off parts of the dining room because it was literally pouring from the ceiling. The floor was tile they had squeegees. Had to be careful where we walked because they could not contain the water problem. The “bar“ in the bedroom consisted of six sodas, and two cans of beer. Our room was covered in mold in the ceiling behind the TV behind the bed and it was inundated with mosquitoes. They actually had to come and turn the hot water on in our room when we first arrived. The bathtub out on the patio had no hot water. There were no supplied activities without having to pay extra making the only thing available via the “all-inclusive” was to hang out in the pool and drink. Horrible experience.

Enjoyed this stay for a joint bachelor/bachelorette trip! It was a beautiful stay with very clean rooms. The only complaint I have is the staff seemed pretty non-existent & I wish the buffet had some more options especially for breakfast dining. Regardless, the resort is pretty well kept up, dinner spots were delicious & the drinks were great!

The resort had good amenities for families, including 3 restaurants, kids pool and adult only pool, bars, indoor and outdoor activities, etc. we went as a couple for a week in August 2025 and we were disappointed to learn that one restaurant was not operating due to mosquitoes. This limited us to the main buffet restaurant and a restaurant where we could eat max 3 times during our stay and had to reserve specific evenings ahead for the week. The main buffet restaurant had poor climate control and was very hot during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests were looking for the coolest spots to sit, but the overall temperature was hot and sticky with loud fans trying to cool the place since the air conditioning was ineffective. The main concern was the smell in the rooms. A mixture of strong mildew and industrial cleaning products, which was unpleasant. The bedding felt damp and our clothes were also damp throughout our stay and smelled terrible upon return home. Nothing we have experienced before. The service overall was average with a few very friendly and helpful members of staff and a few most unfriendly and unhelpful - a mixed standard almost confusing they worked at the same resort. We made the most of our week by heading to the south part of the island where the beach was stunning and the waters were clear, which fortunately made for an enjoyable break.
