Loved the included excursions and the overall beauty and vibe of both the Explorean and Fiesta Americana. Unfortunately,the two best restaurants with views are closed right now- and no one told us. It was a big disappointment because many of the restaurant options are without AC and the ambiance was severely lacking.

We had an amazing stay at The Explorean Cozumel! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The resort is beautifully set in the jungle, offering a peaceful, natural vibe while still giving access to all the amenities at the adjacent Fiesta Americana. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout. We loved the daily excursions and activities included with our stay—such a unique and fun way to explore the island! The food was fresh and delicious, especially the local Mexican dishes, and the service was always friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a relaxing, all-inclusive stay with a touch of adventure, we highly recommend The Explorean. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of our next visit!

We chose this resort for the excursions and they did not disappoint. We travelled as a family of 4 with 16 and 18 year olds. The excursions were great for all of us. The boat snorkel tour was our favourite one, followed by the buggy tour but we enjoyed them all. They always brought a cooler full of drinks and a stack of towels. The food at the resort is good, nothing special. It’s a much smaller resort than those in the Riviera Maya and I’d say the food was a small step down. We all got a little sick near the end of the week. They had some really good empanadas at the coffee bar and I think we ate them just before they pulled them. The excursion definitely made it worth staying at the Explorean and if we had a redo on our vacation week, we’d book it again! We didn’t take in much of the nightly entertainment but we did the casino night which was really fun. Marshall was a fun dealer and made it a great night. The pools were nice but we didn’t spend much time in them. Most of our time was split between excursions and the ocean. Bring your snorkel gear! With the current in Cozumel flippers are nice. We left ours at home and I wish I packed them. My husband and I went to the spa for a massage which was wonderful. All the staff were great. We were asked 1x if we would be interested in checking out the time share. We said no and it wasn’t a big deal. To sum it up, we loved our week here!

This is a beautifully designed hotel that is surrounded by lush greenery. There’s a pool in a beautiful setting with lots of options for lounging if you don’t want to be in full sun. I loved that you also have the option to use the facilities at the Fiesta American if you want full sun and a DJ! The combination of the 2 facilities was great because you just have more options. But I always really liked the difference from being at the Fiesta American, beach and pool and then going back to the Explorean where it was more cool and quiet. Perfect for families with small children! Lots of indoor/outdoor restaurants with high ceilings and fresh healthy food. And other little things like a coffee, ice cream and pastry bar from 10 - 10 for caffeine and sugar addicts. Staff was super nice and helpful and there was a different option each day for a field trip. The boat trip to go snorkeling got me back in the groove with snorkeling again after 25 years, and then I discovered that the snorkeling right off the beach at the hotel was just as great! (There are decks with ladders to easily get into the water as this is not a wide sandy beach.)

Explorean Cozumel has been our hotel for the last several years. Several kilometers south of town, it is much closer to dive sites than many other hotels. Good choice of restaurants. Welcoming and helpful staff. And they have done a lot of important maintenance work since the last time we came in 2023, when the place was hurting badly from weathering Covid.

We’ve stayed at the Explorean twice now and it’s really the only place we want to stay. The only downside is that they try to get you into an hour and a half presentation for a membership. That is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars overall. The staff here are simply the best, very, very friendly and accommodating. The staff actually make this the best.

Private, clean, and beautiful. The perfect Mexico getaway. The size of the resort makes it a more intimate experience allowing you to make bonds with both the staff and the other travelers. Iguanas can be seen meandering through the grounds. The location is a quick walk to the ocean. And scattered throughout the resort is a variety of restaurants. The staff is more than happy to accommodate your needs and are incredibly kind.
