Great spot. Unique 'vibe' to the hotel, but we enjoyed it and the area. Right in the heart of Chueca, it was amazing to see some local culture. Unfortunately, during our stay, we were unaware that the rooftop patio would be unavailable, which was a major reason we had booked this hotel. Despite this, it worked well for us. The room we had was quite small, but we didn't spend much time in it anyway, so was not of concern.

Lovely hotel with equally lovely staff. Do try the roof bar, with an incredible panoramic view across the city. Excellent location, just off Gran Via. Easy to get to all main attractions but really quiet & peaceful.

We loved our stay at room mate Oscar! Great staff /breakfast/room/location for Madrid. The only disappointment was that the roof top bar and pool were closed during our stay- thanks for a great stay though.

Loved the location, the 24 hr reception was great and staff were really helpful. Room was spacious and plenty of hangers, etc, all details have been thought of. Would stay again. Shame the terrace was shut for repairs.....

We stayed at Room Mate Óscar Hotel in April 2025 and entrusted our luggage to the front desk before check-in. When we returned later that day, one of our bags—a TUMI backpack containing a Samsung tablet, valuable items, and my wife's prescription medication—was missing. Despite the serious nature of the loss, the hotel offered no meaningful help, took no responsibility, and failed to communicate any resolution even two weeks later. What was meant to be our 30th wedding anniversary trip has turned into a nightmare. The loss of medication is forcing us to consider ending our trip early, at great personal and financial cost. We were promised full compensation for our stay through Expedia, but only received a small credit of $38.63 without explanation. The complete lack of accountability from the hotel has been deeply disappointing and stressful. I strongly warn other travelers: do not trust this hotel with your belongings. Security and guest care appear to be far below acceptable standards.

A great location off Gran Via and nearby metro station. Room was very comfortable and despite overlooking the square the glazing made it exceptionally quiet. Staff were superb especially in their support during the recent power outtage.

Amazing stay in a boutique hotel

The reviews didn’t lie. It’s a great hotel located in a historic area square. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, offering suggestions for dining and going out. We purchased the breakfast, and it was well worth it. Variety of hot and cold food, healthy as well as savory, pastries, juices, coffees. Breakfast staff was friendly and constantly replenishing food. We enjoyed the rooftop deck bar every evening, and the staff was very nice, and drinks reasonably priced. Views were amazing. Room comfort was top notch. Quiet. Water temperature and pressure were outstanding compared to many hotels we have stayed in.
