Staff was wonderful, food great, bed really comfortable with nice bedding, location great. It needs to be updated. The carpet is old, the shower tiles are old showing age, cracking. There wasn’t a place to sit except at an 8 foot cafeteria table that was beat up, and this was an upgraded room. I get the concept, and love the idea, but it opened in 2009, just needs to be refreshed.

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times and it never disappoints. The rooms are consistently spotless, and the location is unbeatable, just two minutes from the subway, with Macy’s and the Empire State Building both within a ten-minute walk. The staff truly stand out as well: warm, friendly, and always happy to help, which makes every stay feel easy and welcoming.

Very poorly lit rooms, could not even see my own luggage, tried to explain to management and they could not do anything, the overall state of the premises is very run down, cold, industrial, the bathtub had a lot of rust and looked dirty, the front desk staff were incredibly unprofessional and had zero manners. If you want to pay 4 star price to stay at a hostel, by all means do so, otherwise I would say this hotel is grossly misrepresenting themselves.
