I loved the balcony and the view of the lock and the ships coming in. This was fascinating. However the room was very hot when we arrived as the air conditioner was not turned on. There was no phone in the room to call the front desk so we had to go and ask for someone to turn the air conditioner on as we couldn’t figure it out. Because of the location and small size of the air conditioner the room never completely cooled down. There were very few blankets on the bed.

watching the ships in the locks was very interested. Wish they had a microwave in the room and a better air conditioning system.

The hotel staff is very professional, organized and very efficient. The location is cool, being able to watch the ships move in and out of the lock. The private balcony with chairs makes it a great place to relax The bathroom was updated and nice. Breakfast is pretty basic, juice and mile, cold cereal, bread available for toast, and bananas. The two improvements that could be made are to the air conditioning and the beds. The A/C unit is in an area by the front door. While the vestibule area and the bedroom are attached, it is hard to get that cool air to the sleeping area, making the room pretty warm. The beds are about as firm a mattress as I have slept on. If you like a hard mattress you will be in luck.

Just as presented on website

Basic no frills _ but, warm, friendly accommodations with amazing view of the lock and ships from private balcony . Nice walk to restaurants and shops in quaint downtown. Free Continental breakfast - juice, coffee, cereal, toast and pastry - nice for families. We enjoyed the whole experience.

Lock 7 Stay

Pros: View.
Cons: Bathroom could have been a little cleaner but was acceptable by most standards.
Location: Great location. Lots of things to do in the immediate area.
Haven't been a Lock 7 in 20 years. Still a great place to stay.
