Great all-inclusive resort! All staff members were very friendly and aimed to please every step of our trip. Many restaurant options and excellent food. Lots of on-site activities, so we didn't even feel a need to get out and explore, since we have been to the Cancun area a couple times previously.

All inclusive is always super nice and convenient. The restaurants had some really good food. Breakfast at la isla was good and kompai had some really yummy food if you want some Asian fusion in Mexico. The staff we nice. There’s so many bars to grab drinks. You can hop to the other resorts conveniently. I wish the carts were more easily accessible. If you use your concierge to get a cart it’s faster. The beach was covered in seaweed, but they work diligently to clean it all up.

Love this place!

Beautiful property, good food!  Resort is very big and spread out, be prepared to do a lot of walking.  My husband and I don't mind, so no issue for us.  There is a golf cart service, but most of the time you will have to wait around 15 minutes before you are picked up.  There is also a strict dress code at the restaurants, although it is not listed on their website.  My husband was dressed nice one night for dinner, but we were refused because he did not have a collared shirt on. The front desk is also lacking.  Twice we've gone and they are less than friendly.  This last time in particular, Fernando left a bad taste.  Other than that, the place is great!  :)

Relaxing. Beautiful. Delicious. Amazing.

This is the fifth (5th) time my wife and I have been to El Dorado Royale and we still love it as much as we did the first time. They've always been a gourmet all-inclusive adults-only resort but in the last two years since our last visit they've really upped the ante with all of their menus, as well as the quality and presentation of the food. Absolutely fantastic. When you arrive you are assigned a personal concierge who will take care of pretty much anything and everything for you. This trip was to celebrate my wife's birthday and Jose was really great about making sure we had everything and anything we wanted at our disposal to make it memorable. Fair warning: They will try to get you to attend a timeshare pitch in exchange for even more free stuff. Though I've never found them to be that pushy about it and they are very good at accepting a "no thank you" if that's your preference. Another piece of advice: Don't spring for the best room. Take a level down from what you would normally book and save that money to use at the spa. First of all, aside from the view and poolside options, all of their rooms are exactly identical. The casitias' are also all the same if you go to that side of the resort. The spa is DEFINITELY worth the extra money, especially when you start off your vacation with a moonlight massage on the beach!

Fantastic 2nd honeymoon

Pros: Quiet
My husband and I haven't had a childless vacation in 7 years. Value and luxury were both serious qualities our choice of location had to posess. Choosing the El Dorado Royale Casitas was the absolute best thing we could have ever done. I have stayed at Ritz Carltons, Fairmonts--- you name it. I paid half the amount for the EDRC, and was 120% pleased. All inclusive hotels have somewhat of a bad reputation for mediocre food or drinks, but the EDRC was all it claimed to be- gourmet all inclusive. Top notch service- and the most friendly and personable staff. My husband and I have picked it to death, and have not one complaint! can't wait to return.

casitas is the only way to go

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
Upon arrival we were taken to the concierge and promptly checked in at 3 pm. The swim up individual casitas was awesome!!!(2934 was the closest room to the beach anywhere) Everything we read online was to the T. Tip- room service brings ANYTHING on any restaurant menu for breakfast on time when u order at night. We ate at the casitas D Italia 3 times (i ordered double food) and every time we were more impressed. We also visited most of the other restaurants and were never unhappy, just more impressed. The resort as a whole was spectacular. The beach was fabulous. Great landscaping, I was a little worried about the reviews i read and the huge sandbags in the ocean but there would be no fabulous beach if they were not there, hence erosion. We spent most of our time at our swim up bar in the casitas section we were staying (2900s), no need to leave, however we did visit 3 other pools, not even half of the pools and they were all spectacular, clean, easy to get drinks, and great staff. I would suggest to anybody to come and visit.
