Unfortunately, my family and I had a several bad experiences. First, when we checked in, we were ushered to a special office and for the next 45 minutes had to endure a sales pitch for the Royalton Prime membership. At first we thought the representative was giving us a tour of the hotel but instead she was trying to tell us how much we would "save" if we signed up for their special club and committed to listening to another 90 minute sales pitch. It was a bad experience after waking up early to get to this hotel. The hotel itself was very mediocre. The food was nothing special. The pools were nice but the lazy river barely had any tubes to use so we had to wait a long time to be able to use the lazy river. Then while taking a shower, the water suddenly shut down. For about 5 minutes, I waited cold and wet in the shower before the water came back on. Also, we were a large party and every night it was one thing or another that created drama around seating us at dinner, despite having made previous reservations. When going to the beach, please be careful. My daughter cut her foot on a stone or piece of coral as she was trying to get into the water. In addition, if you are afraid of dogs, the beach in front of this hotel isn't a place for you. There were many stray dogs just hanging out on the beach chairs every day.

I loved the service, people were great! I didn’t like that the lazy river was freezing and that nobody was cleaning the pools. I did get a stomach bug which was no fun since I’m pregnant and can’t take much for it aside from rest and hydration.

Please note this was my first ever trip to Mexico, I have had stayed at Royalton previously but in Punta Cana and my experience was very different, over there you felt welcome and the service was so nice. In this hotel room and amenities were good, I felt it was a very well taken care of hotel. The rooms were always clean, the pools and restaurants were pristine. The cleaning staff was nice and helpful if an additional request was made like in my case that I asked for an extra blanket. I stayed in a swim out suite and the pool was clean and checked every morning. What made my stay very poor and me not ever considering returning here was the staff. Half the staff was nice, the other part were overly rude and unfriendly. Is like they are placed in a position, for example, making crepes, they would not try to be nice about it or in my case I wanted a crepe with Nutella ( that I think is pretty standard) the woman than was taking care of that section on the morning of November 28, told me flat that if I wanted a crepe with Nutella I needed to do it myself. And when I asked her that Nutella should be put while the crepe is open not closed she told me that her job was to serve the crepe ( in the triangular shape) at the front little stand. That if I wanted anything else I would need myself to look for the Nutella somewhere else and make it by myself. Something similar happened when I asked for avocado. I was told there is not avocado available that only guacamole and they had no

The food is very poor quality. Mostly frozen food from Costco. The place is super croweded, it is hard to get a chair with a good view. The grounds are dirty. The rooms and many hallways smell. Many of the staff dont speak English. Reservations ar the resturants don't mean anything. Many in our party got sick with a GI bug. We have been to Cancun many times, this is one of the worst places er have been to and hope to not go back there. For the money you can go to a lot of better places.

I been so many time for royalton company. This is the worst one ! The drink taste too watery and food is kind of terrible! I bring my whole family 11 people come to this hotel ! They’re also sooo disappointed too. I felt bad for them. The service was so so , some of the service staff was so rude. Definitely I will not come back anymore for this hotel ! Not recommended!

Was a great trip until our entire family got severe food poisoning. We had to stay in the hotel room for 2 days throwing up every five minutes & it was very stressful because my 2 year old was extremely sick and so was I at thirty weeks pregnant. We have stayed at the Royalton in punta cana and the exact same thing happened to 1/2 of our party that trip. I don’t think I’ll ever book a Royalton resort again.
