Off the beaten path but exactly what I needed. 10 min south of Playa right in the middle of the jungle. This place was perfection! I can't rave about this place enough. My son and I went on vacation together and stayed here as an option instead of Xcaret and man am I glad we did. The staff is beyond fantastic! They make you feel like family! And if you need a taxi - they have a guy!! And he can drop you off and pick up! The pink house down the road is great for breakfast as an alternative to their amazing breakfast. We will be back to see Fanny, Nemesio and Fernando!!! :)

Terasu is a hotel in jungle. The building is not new, but the room is clean. The breakfast was simple, but the scrambled eggs was made tasty. It's not too far from Xcaret Park. This is the reason we chose this hotel. After seeing the evening show at the park after 9pm, it took us 10-15 minutes to the hotel. There is no public transportation to the hotel. If you don't have a car, you have to rely on taxi service which is quite expensive. The staff was very friendly.

This place is very cute, in a cool jungle setting, and far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Playa, which was a little too loud for us. If you want to access downtown Playa, you are very near the Main Street where you can hop on a collectivo for $30mx. The breakfast and coffee was good. This location is an excellent starting point if you’re doing Xcaret, since the hotel is essentially on the Xcaret property. It’s walking distance to a few of the parks. And of course, monkeys. Everybody loves monkeys. We fed some bananas to the spider monkeys and they couldn’t have been cuter. There was a couple issues with power, but it didn’t affect us and was beyond the control of the staff, who were very nice and helpful. Thanks to the staff for making our Xcaret park enjoyable!

Some rooms are a tree-house type which are charming but not safe for smaller kids especially when it rains because the wooden stairs would be slippery. Also, the railing bars are widely spaced, enough for a small child to get through and fall. During my stay, it rained hard and my room's ceiling leaked bad which disrupted my sleep and drenched one of my bags. I appreciated being moved to another room, but the disappointment had already settled in. I also gave 3 stars for cleanliness because of a cat that sat just about anywhere including dining tables after it meandered around on sodden ground. Furthermore, the dining area is open to air like a large pergola. Its roof leaked during rain, its ground uncomfortably wet and, generally, just alot of rainwater coming in due to lack of walls. As for the rooms, there is no complimentary bottled water so you either take one from bar ref for a fee, or fetch yourself some free water from a dispenser at the dining area, so good luck when it rains or when it's pitch dark outside. There was no stirrer or spoons in the room, either, for the coffee/tea.

Hands down the best get away place. If you like peace and quiet, It’s a smaller place with nature all around. The staff is one of the best I’ve ever had so attentive and friendly from the moment you arrive to the moment you close your car door to leave. The atmosphere is peaceful the place is clean. The host were amazing helping us secure a cab that won’t charge an arm an a leg. They also give you recommendations to places based on your interest. We visited XCARET, the night guard waited outside with a lamp for us to make sure we were ok. At night they close the gates which made me feel extra safe and secure. Their restaurant staff amazing as well. I will definitely be back.

The staff is soo friendly and go out of their way to help you. This place is like an oasis in the jungle. The location is perfect for visiting the parks. I recommend XCaret, Xenses, and Xplor.

All of the staff: Fanny, Fernando, Nemesio, Jorge, Marcela and Jamil are very helpful, hardworking, kind and warmly accommodating, like a family! The service at Terasu was consistently superb, and the complimentary breakfast was always excellent—as is the delicious a la carte menu. The almost daily visits from the spider monkeys were truly awesome! I recommend Terasu for anyone requiring a very quiet, very well run ‘home away from home’ while visiting the easily accessed Playa del Carmen and Mayan Riviera.

It is a sanctuary in the jungle. Easily the best place I have stayed. Breakfast is awesome, you can get lunch at a neighboring deli and dinner is out of this world. This is not a real hotel, more like a family run business. The staff were nice, but the environment and hotel condition is not good. Do not fool by the picture. Only convenience is close to most parks.

This hotel is a little treasure and i would absolutely recommend it! We checked in super later after being at Xcaret all day and when we drove up one of the staff came out to the car to greet us, carried our bags and showed us to our rooms. The rooms are clean, fridge was filled with drinks and snacks for purchase. Fresh fruit, Mexican bread, and eggs to order for breakfast. And we even had a surprise visit from a small family of spider monkeys! And it was very quiet.

We enjoyed this place greatly. Staff was attest, inviting, and friendly answering any questions we had about the are and where to go. Rooms were clean and felt like we were stay in the treetops. Food was good and best of all there were wild monkey’s that came to visit every morning and yes bananas were provided. lol We would totally stay here again.
