The room is dated and needs alot of up keep but it was very clean. The cleaning staff do an amazing job and are very friendly. The hotel is very unique covered in large palapas and the adults only pool is very nice with beautiful Palm Trees. The serving staff are very friendly and want to make your stay memorable. The only downside to our stay was a few vacationers hog the loungers by putting their towels on them early in the morning and then disappearing until later in the day and in doing so are depriving other quests of enjoying the pool side area. There was a lot of food but some of it was questionable as to flavor and texture. Best location on the beach though.

The hotel is good value for money. Very clean with nice facilities- pool, spa (massage), and rooms. Excellent location close to downtown and on the beach. The a la carte dining options were great and the New Years Eve Party exceptional. But the food offered in the buffet was mediocre at best and never changed from day to day. This isn't a complaint but a comment- if you do not speak Spanish, this is not the hotel for you. Most staff members, including the front desk and guest services do not speak English. Most guests are Mexican tourists, which is great because they are friendly and lots of fun, but as a result resort programming had very limited English. This was surprising to me because of the many visits I have made to Vallarta over the years I have found almost all people working in tourism to have excellent English. A language barrier is one thing but on a few occasions it seemed staff did not want to assist us at all because we did not speak Spanish. This was particularly evident during check out when we asked if there was somewhere we could leave our luggage as we had a late flight. We were told no. As we were standing in the lobby trying to decide what to do- we were approached by the bell hop who was very happy to take our luggage into storage.

This was our 7th stay at Las Palmas. We were happy to see.many of.the great long time staff still here. Guadalupe at the Buffet in the morning, and then on to Pool side drink service in the afternoon id THE MAN! Edgar is always there with a smile to take care of you. We had a couple of newcomers doing a great job at the buffet also. Daniel and Alondra "Pumpkin", are very good servers. Ignacio was also a good server. All of the afternoon and evening bartenders are all very personable and mix good drinks. Martin and the other bellman are hardworking men. Martha, longtime houskeeper took wonderful care of us daily. We always found.something good to eat at each meal. Fresh omelets, pancakes, and much more for breakfast. Many choices for lunch and dinner. We enjoyed the 2 ala cart restaurants were both good. The Chef at the italian restaurant treated us very special on our last night. We were pleased with everyone at the front desk,and had the opportunity to meet and say thanks to several management staff behind the scenes. We knew what to expect for rooms and enjoyed our week long vacation.

We really enjoyed our time. We stayed 11 nights. The first night we didnt arrive until 7ish at night. The front counter staff were not helpful. They didnt tell us where to go, they didnt explain where anything was nor did they give us the lock for the safe. They have us the brochure with all the info in Spanish. We went back down and they finally gave us one in english. We really enjoyed the small authentic feel to the place. Theres not a huge selection of food, but whats there is delicious. . I would definitely recommend people to bring ear plugs for bedtime, as the rooms are not sound proof at all. The hotel is very family friendly, so its loud alll the time. Rooms are very clean ! Also the night time entertainment was not the best . We loved some of it like the authentic mexican dancing . But other nights we not so great . .

Staff were very nice specially thomas from the receiving area, the housekeeper (forgot her name) and the bartenders near the buffet area. Location is great, close to the airport, shopping area and downtown. The room is ok, bathroom looks old and saw baby cockroaches in the washroom, bed and everywhere. Probably our first and last stay here
