After requesting an early check in 1 week in advance and again the morning of our stay and being told both times we would be offered early check in, we still didnt receive it. Not even 1 hour. We were really hoping to check in prior to our event we were attending that evening. Since we could not, we left our bags at the bell desk and went to our event. Upon returning I expressed to the manager my frustration when I was getting our room keys and finally able to check in and he said to me he did not appreciate the way I was talking to him (which wasnt offensive) and then proceeded to tell me that noone was available to help with our bags, told me to go get them from the bellman closet ourselves and we then took them ourselves up to our room. 10 minutes after arriving in our room the same mamager knocks at the door with security staying there was a noise complaint. This had to have been a joke. I told him he was ridiculous and I closed the door. We didnt hear from him after that. The young men working valet were amazing and so was the staff at the bar and the rooftop restaurant. Because of the front desk service and the manager I will not choose to stay here again. Unfortunate for this hotel to have staff that arent very accomodating. I do travel often and I do stay in San Diego frequently. I have never experienced service such as this.

We appreciate you taking the time to share these concerns but must advise that we cannot guarantee an early arrival for our guests, especially during such major events as Boots in the Park. Based on this, we encourage our guests to plan accordingly if they anticipate needing to access their guest room before our guaranteed arrival time of 4:00 p.m. We also encourage our guests to remain mindful of the guests around them, as we unfortunately needed to express more directly to you in the form of a noise warning. We wish you well in your travels.

The hotel itself is nice. The hidden fees were excessive. The rooms are not cleaned daily. The customer service is snarky and unhelpful.

The building itself is beautiful and clean. The bars are both very nice with good selections. The staff overall are extremely nice and courteous. The room was a bit disappointing for the price, because we booked a junior suite and seemed to only get an extra sink (without any additional amenities in an empty kitchenette) and a seating area. The mini fridge was a minimally functional cooler that we had to unplug and defrost because it wasn’t working when we arrived due to the back being coated in ice. There was a one cup keurig machine that I imagine is in every room. The power outlets on one side of the bed didn’t work. The light up makeup mirror provided in bathroom also didn’t work. It seems odd when the building is so new. It took almost 2 days to receive new towels when we asked for them. We asked to come down to pick them up ourselves, but the front desk said we couldn’t because they didn’t have them there. Then it was multiple misunderstandings with housekeeping until we were able to get a complete set of new linens. When we needed to extend our stay an extra day due to my husband having food poisoning, we called well before check out to ask for an extra night. The man on the phone agreed and our keycards were renewed. A few hours later a lead housekeeper was very gruff saying we needed to leave because our room was on the list to be cleaned. We called the desk again & they hadn’t extended the stay in the computer. Poor communication among the staff.
