Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is right near the cable car pick up and a short walk to either Union Square or Chinatown. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the area was centrally located to several things we wanted to see in San Francisco. Nice stay!

The staff at the Chancellor were super friendly! Our room was always clean after we’d come back after a day of adventure. Housekeeping made it special for our daughter by keeping her stuffed toys safe as well. I would definitely recommend the Chancellor to friends and family based on the staffs friendliness and how convenient the hotel was for everything we wanted to do. Walking distance was perfect for the cable car, the cable car even stopped right outside our hotel. Perfect location and great hotel if you love the historic building vibes. Would definitely come back!

No AC, no way to open the window. The door lock is bad and can’t read the card. The elevators were next to my bedroom and I could eat the mechanism all night long. Cleaning staff is efficient and nice. Desk staff is not performant.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Like the little bar inside. Bed super comfy, and they offer a wide selection of pillows :). Fantastic location. Parking garage right up the street. Elevator was a nice extra feature. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel, but homeless in that area are just scary. drug addicts are everywhere. Problem is not specific to the hotel, but to a downtown area generally
