Good hotel close to city center

Centrally located near downtown Syracuse. Large room with comfortable bed. Free parking in rear of hotel. Free breakfast was ok, one hot dish, waffles, croissants and bagels, fruits, yogurt, juice and coffee. Surrounding area was good with a few restaurants nearby.

This property is a GEM! I’ve stayed in Syracuse a number of times and wish I’d found The Parkview sooner! The room, lobby, etc. are charming and perfectly appointed. The staff are helpful, informative, and accommodating. I felt safe and comfortable. Definitely staying there again!

Older but ok facility, only one working elevator is problematic, but the absolutely worse breakfast experience you could imagine. If you weren't one of the earliest diners, you wouldn't get fed. They even ran out of forks and spoons for a whole day because they were waiting on a delivery.

The property is old but very well kept. It is immaculately clean. The staff is not as friendly as we are used to also they ran out of coffee, orange juice, forks , sausage or bacon at breakfast this am. We were told that having a spoon and knife was sufficient. Then they ran out of spoons. Needless to say breakfast was not good and the entire dining room was talking about it.

Home away from home

We love the Parkview. It’s our home away from home when visiting our daughter at Syracuse University. It’s nice that they added a breakfast but it was severely picked over by 9:15am. I remember there being a nice spread during my last visit.

Reception door locked at 8pm arrival. Staff was not present, nor available by phone. Fortunately, after 5 minutes, we were able to gain attention from a guest who opened the locked door and got us in out of the rain. Rooms are spacious, not terribly well cleaned (detritus on the rigs and bed frames). Location okay, breakfast positively dreadful.

The hotel needs to be updated. My room had an awful smoky, body odor smell. It was terrible. The hotel was full for college drop offs so there was no other room available. The clerk had housekeeping go in the following day to try to disinfect and deodorize but it did not work. The carpet was old and stained. The vending machine was dirty inside. The building is an old beautiful building but it needs a serious renovation and to be thoroughly cleaned in the meantime.

I was in Syracuse to drop off my daughter at school and The Parkview Hotel was the perfect place to stay. Our room was spacious and nicely updated. There was plenty of parking behind the hotel and we were in walking distance to some very nice restaurants.

Room 108 not good location/noise.

Room 108 is poor location right by elevator that you hear open and close every time. That's where we were placed. Otherwise, everything was nice and clean and well maintained and breakfast oatmeal was great. Good parking too.

The people in reception, in the breakfast hall all were very rude as if you are doing them a favor. No help at all, and very very rude to all the guests. Not a good coffee machine, not a god service at all. The room was not done you have to ask and make an appointment for it, what is that? and the answer were if we have time we will do the room? WHAT? is that service?

The hotel room was clean, and tidy. Bathroom was spotless. There wasnt a store to buy snacks just a vending machine. Could not find a convenient store in or near location, which was odd. At the time, there were no bottled water in the vending machine, however, the hotel provided ice water in the lobby.
