Poor hotel

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: Noisy, cockroaches
The location was short to Medieval Times but the hotel room was extremely small. The bed was uncomfortable and there was a cockroach in the room!! Very disgusting! The breakfast wasn't too bad. Was help yourself and there was a small variety. For the value of the hotel room, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Very displeased and will not be coming back.

Quite welcoming and generally clean

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy
Whilst very handy for the city centre, the hotel was very close to the road and a cross section for numerous and noisy street cars. There was little soundproofing from this noise.

This hotel was false advertising

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: Nothing close, foul smell
The pictures on your website or from a completely different Howard Johnson. When I made the reservation in June your site claimed it had on site parking. Much to my dismay the on site parking was two blocks away and I had to pay $12 a night. There were no elevators which is tough for my father who has two bad knees. The hallways had a smell that resembled marijuana. The only plus to this hotel was the breakfast. That's very sad coming from a supposed big name hotel chain.

This hotel did not make me feel welcomed

Pros: Close restaurants
The hotel that I stayed, Howard Johnson, I had a problem with the toilet and the staff gave me a plunger, and that still didn't fix the problem. So the next day I was out most of the day and management said that they would fix the problem and I would be able to use the toilet, however when I returned later that evening the problem had not been fixed and I asked to be moved to another room, but was told that there were no other rooms available.

Good Price but Poor Room Conditions

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy, smelly, small
Guess I can't complain since I was looking for the most economical hotel in Toronto.....and we found it but paid the price in discomfort. First there was an awful smell in the room, so bad I bought an air freshener and put it in the air conditioner. And speaking of air conditioner...it didn't work very well at all. The room is VERYsmall just big enough for a double bed. So all that to say even for the good rates I would not stay there again.

Great location, good value

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
This hotel is located on several trolley routes, which provide easy access to downtown, where finding parking is difficult and expensive. A convenience store across the street even sells TTC day passes---what a bargain! There is no on-site parking at the hotel, but some spaces are available in an undeground garage two blocks away for $12 per night. The single rooms aren't huge, but big enough for a budget-minded traveler.

You get what you paid for.

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy, stinky room
Goods: Free high speed intenet that stream video without a problem. Free nothing fancy breakfast, the 2 mins waffle machine was great. Staff were average but helpful. Things in bathroom should be cleaned were bright white clean. Fast food restaurant everyone knows right next to it. A good walk along Queens Ave, with lots of local shops, restaurants, and clubs, reaches China Town and Downtown. Bads: Noisy stay, busy street car intersection. Parking was not on site, blocksss away. Really tiny stinky room. The size of the room is about the size of the bed plus a feet or 2 on each 3 sides. Smoking room with cigarette smell is ok, but this room stinks like they wash the bed linen with cigarette butts. A/C was not working to kill the cigarette smell. Bed linen was old. Advice: Stay here only if you don't smoke, are on budget, like waffle, and without Claustrophobia.

You get what you pay

Pros: Free Internet
Cons: Poor breakfast
It was cheaper than staying downtown and the streetcar is right in front of the building. It is a very small room and the heat was incredibly high. There is no way to open the window and the AC was off, so we basically spend the night awake. Don't regret staying there but will surly not stay there again.

You get what you pay for!

First of all, I don't know Toronto that well, but this location didn't seem downtown, so don't expect to be right downtown. There's no elevator, pack light. We got a room with a double bed and it was tiny, the smallest room I've ever seen. The hotel blew a fuse. Guess it happened a lot because the front desk guy made sure to show us how to fix it so when it happened again, we could fix it ourselves, which we did. There is no on site parking, so again, pack light. There was construction right outside when we were there so it was pretty inconvenient for luggage. We were only there one night and it was pretty cheap, so for the 10 hours we spent in the room it wasn't so bad.
