We booked to stay at Accent Inn in Richmond due to the good reviews which unfortunately did not match our experience and expectations.
The room was very noisy all throughout the night with sounds of the highway, local businesses, airplanes, loud AC units, and people smoking outside our door.
The walls and doors also did not block the stinky smell of cigarette smoke from other patrons smoking and chatting right outside the door. The staircases were disgusting and littered with cigarette butts.
The front desk service after 9pm was nonexistent. We had asked for a change of duvet cover notifying the front desk at 11pm, 11:30pm, and 12am with them promising us that they would attend, but no one came. Tired and disappointed, we made the trek to the lobby and found nobody manning the front desk. When we finally got service, the lady at the front desk was rude and rolled her eyes. The best they could do was give us a thin blanket instead of a duvet. We just took it and went back to our room because we didn’t have to experience more of her unpleasantness.
Another unpleasantness we experienced was that the shower didn’t drain well and it was gross.
The wifi was slow and mostly nonexistent.
If you value a quiet and clean room with a good smelling, clean, and smoke free environment with attentive customer service, do NOT choose Accent Inn Vancouver Airport. You get better value for your money elsewhere because you’d actually be able to sleep and enjoy your stay.
