Stayed one night and couldn’t leave fast enough. The main buffet food quality was awful and the roof of the dining facility was being held together by a giant tarp that was blowing in 20mph winds. The hotel buildings were all covered in dirt and grime, they looked like they hadn’t been scrubbed and painted / refreshed in a long time. The bathroom was tiny and flooded during showers. The in-room safe was broken when we arrived. The mirror was covered in mold. Overall, this hotel is suffering from decay and lack of upkeep. We’re very disappointed at the cost as well as the experience because we’d stayed at a sister resort in Playa two years ago and had a wonderful time. Do not recommend going! Stay elsewhere

Best part was the staff, the go above and beyond to accommodate you. Location was great, beach area and pool area were good. Food needed a better variety and there was no entertainment provided like other resort. Unless you paid for the dinner theater. Rooms are outdated in need of repairs. Resort is more suitable for people traveling with children.

Two stars for the wonderful staff they were very accommodating. But minus 3 stars for the food. The restaurants were not even good as well. I thought fish house would redeem the stay but that was probably the worst of the food. Also, I’ve never stayed at an all inclusive place where they have levels. I appreciate the extra care we received but not my whole family was able to upgrade their stay. But, I will say they were very accommodating if we all wanted to be in areas where there is a level. The rooms were nice but a little outdated. The beach was also nice and we utilized the amenities.

We loved our time at Melia Cozumel. The staff were all very courteous and friendly, with special thanks to Sandra in the dining room! Our room was great and the whole complex was always kept very clean. There were lots of activities to choose from and the beach was really nice. Any time we needed help, staff were quick to respond and very helpful. Definitely plan to go back.

Sadly, our stay at Melia was less than satisfactory. We have stayed at many all inclusives over the years and this experience was by far the worst. I conveyed my issues to Sandra Giovana Osorno Lopez on the day we checked out. She said she would be issuing a free 3 night stay certificate in the next few days, but I have heard nothing from her, and quite frankly I seriously doubt we would return to Melia. It was a toss up between Dreams and Melia. I chose Dreams, my spouse chose Melia. Two elevators for a 12 story building and one was disabled. The stairway is in deplorable condition. We checked it out in case of an emergency, such as a power outage, which we did indeed experience, however, I can not imagine using the stairwell unless absolutely necessary. The day of our arrival we had no hot water in the room. It was fixed while we were out to dinner, but the maintenance person did not clean up the tub after the repair. We were locked out of the room safe 3 times in 4 days. The first repair was done promptly. Approximately 20 minutes. The second repair was also done promptly. The third repair 1 1/2 hours. Buffet food was barely warm. Only 2 other restaurants. Both required reservations for dinner. Extremely high winds. The patio door frame was not sealed properly and the entry door had a large gap. We experienced a wind tunnel through the room. Whistling wind for the last 2 days of the 6 day stay. The staff is fantastic. Always courteous, helpful friendly. Would not
