The staff was friendly, but difficult for a non-Spanish speaker to fully understand. The building is old, but I think they make a concerted effort at maintaining it and keeping it fresh. The only critique I have is that the owners should budget for better, sound proof glass for the windows in the rooms. We heard all commotion outside when trying to sleep.

The housekeeping staff clearly work very hard here. Our room was immaculate. We thought housekeeping was on request but it was done each day. This is where the good things stop! We had one night where we could hear water running for over 3 hrs. This sounded like a tap had been left on. We called front desk. After 2 hrs. She was going to send someone to our room at 11.45 pm to check it wasn’t in our room! Interestingly after some debate the water stopped running. Checkinwe were the only arrivals at 10.pm. They ignored us! This seems to be a theme looking back on other reviews. They continued with their conversation totally ignoring us until we said hello and interrupted them and then they made a big thing of our passports and how pretty they were. Very condescending. Another front desk staff member gave conflicting information about cruise shuttle times and services. More training of front desk staff really is needed. The lifts… always broken. The last day we had to carry our bags down 5 levels. One of us injured their back doing this. As a result we have cancelled our return stay as we so not want to experience this again. A disabled man was left to manage his alone until a fellow traveller assisted him. These lifts have had long term issues! staff were very inattentive.

Overall, the facility and staff were in good order. Nothing terrible. However, we stayed 2 nights, different days. It was very noisy in the area, single pane windows. But, it was traffic, not in their control. They did provide ear plugs, so they know it's an issue. The plumbing in both showers needed attention. Shower stoppers were sketchy and valves weren't very user friendly. Not spotless, but pretty nice overall. Didn't eat at the facility, but the breakfast area was usually packed full. Probably OK. 1 staff member was a little short, but the rest were really great. Used the luggage storage for early arrival and they let us in a little early to get freshened up and unpack from traveling so we could get around town comfortably. Price was reasonable and very competitive. Entire local area is plagued with homeless and not super clean. Not their fault, but just be aware what you will encounter in the area. Getting a ride in and out was very easy. A little tight at the entrance.
