Room was great. Went during Mardi Gras so the sound in the room heard from music being played in the bar on the first floor was probably much louder than usual. Otherwise the staff was great.

We were greeted and helped right away with are bags by Jaquille. He was so nice and pleasant. This reminded me right away of my last stay many years ago over 10 years I would say. Front desk definitely has some attitude adjustment issues that need to be dealt with or change your job. This didn’t stop, when we called for an extra cover for our cot we were told we needed to get it from the front desk and when asked they said because they were short staffed. How is this a guest’s problem? When asked for a managers name none was given, then I asked for corporate number that was not given. The lady at the front desk stated her name was China. This was on 2/12 at about midnight. The attitude again was ridiculous, I’m sorry but a guest doesn’t deserve this. Water pressure was horrible in 2243. On 2/13, we had breakfast and for a pretty busy hotel, that has a resturant, you should have more that one maybe you had 2 waitress/waiter working. The young lady we had was doing the best she could but then as a patron to hear her coworker say “here these are your plates” with the rudest attitude was sad and she sure kept here cool and was professional in front of us. On our checkout (2/15) once again attitude with our bags when asked if they can be stowed away while we walk around. The attitude seriously leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. I paid enough money to stay here and do not deserve to be given an attitude throughout my entire stay.

Everyone was very nice, my stay overall was good. The hotel is in a great location. The only thing that was very disappointing was The Valet driver on one of the evenings. He was rude and never once announced he was in another vehicle. He was on his phone while we were waiting for him at his post. My friend was trying to park but the street is so narrow that she was holding up traffic a bit trying to park where the sidewalk is to let everyone behind her go. And once everyone moved and she had time to park correctly the Valet driver started scooting up and not letting her park and was honking the horn. And when I told him she’s trying to park he started yelling at me thru the window. And we had been waiting about 10 -15 mins for him and when he rolled the window down to yell at me is when I realized it was him. Never once did he said hey I’ll be back or I’m present or anything. I didn’t get his name but he was a younger Hispanic looking male.

On 2/13, 930pm, we report a gas leak to the Front Desk in one of our rooms. A security guard arrived 9:45pm and confirmed the gas odor. The Front Desk did not answer our call, and we proceed downstairs at 1030pm for status. The Front Desk (Chyna) said she had other priorities and will get to it. We asked what the emergency procedure were and she stated it was not an emergency. We also requested for maintenance as well as the Fire Department to investigate for safety concerns. We stated we had moved the 4 guests to the 2nd room with 4 guest and she offered 2 blankets. Upon returning to the 2nd floor, gas odors increased in the hallway as well as the 2nd room. We insisted that she call maintenance or the Fire Department to investigate. We evacuated both rooms at 1155pm. Maintenance arrived at 1am and confirmed the gas odor in the rooms/hallway. Maintenance was unable to access the Kitchen and waited for a key and confirmed the kitchen below was the source of the gas odor. The Front Desk did not provide any other accommodations as all 8 guests slept outside in the cold pool area with fresh air at 2am. The Front Desk was not properly trained in emergency situations or providing reasonable accommodations. The Hotel need to properly train employees as well as maintenance staff with emergency procedures posted for the timely safety of all guests. We had to wait 4.5 hours to speak to a manager (when they arrived to work).
