The Neighborhood: Often referred to as âthe heart of New Orleans,â the Mid-City neighborhood offers a central location and a down-home local culture. In addition to being within striking distance to the French Quarter and Uptown, it is one of New Orleansâ largest intact historic districts. The neighborhoodâs traditional roots intermingled with modern architecture lend a unique flavor to the areaâs critically-acclaimed bars and eateries.
Getting Around: The neighborhood offers plenty to do and see on foot, but there is no shortage of options available to those looking to explore the rest of the city.
We are ~1 min walk away from the closest Canal Street streetcar stop. This is the best way to get to the French Quarter and CBD.
Rideshare services are a popular option too. New Orleans is also a great place for bicyclists, as there are plenty of rental outlets available nearby.

We were pretty busy with tours and dinner reservations so we did not spend a lot of down time at the house. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the home. We did try to sit it the hot tub but it was not very hot, just luke warm. We could not find a way to turn up the temp. Other than that it was a great trip!
We came in for the weekend to see a performance and the property did not disappoint. Everyone loved having their own space and the bathrooms were clean and updated. Towels were in abundance and the beds were comfortable. It was on the main road across the street from a trolly stop, and was easily accessible for pick-up/drop-offs. Had a great stay, will stay again.
Mid City is a great location if you want to be close enough to the action on Bourbon Street, but far enough away to enjoy a more laid back vacation. Ride shares to the French Quarter take about 10 minutes and are quite reasonable.
The double shotgun style rental has a well appointed kitchen, enough bathrooms for a large group and 5 bedrooms plus an additional office/sleeping space. Be aware that the office space is the walk through area to the two first floor bedrooms and the staircase leading to the three upstairs bedrooms.
As mentioned in other reviews, the wall separating the two units is paper thin. Every word spoken can be heard through the wall. Light sleepers will definitely find this to be a problem.
Management was responsive to the hot water issue that arose. It was resolved and going forward there was plenty of hot water for 8 adults to shower.
The hot tub was a nice addition, but the area is not as lovely as the photographs in the listing.
All in all, Mid City is a fantastic area. Filled with wonderful neighborhood restaurants and bars. City Park, Audubon Park, The French Quarter...are all an easy street car or ride share away.
Beautiful, very updated and clean house! Tons of space - so many bathrooms! Walls are thin but that is standard for any double shotgun in New Orleans. Frank was exceptional with communication - the door code battery was dead when we checked in but property managers were very prompt with responsiveness and fixed issue. Surplus of towels and blankets, and bathrooms were well stocked with shampoo/conditioner, etc. Hot water was limited and very spotty - might be an easy fix or just a problem while we were there. Overall would recommend this beautiful home with hot tub and great location.
The property was very clean and spacious. Parking is poor. You have to park on the street. There is no closet space for storage. The walls are paper thin, you are able to hear neighbors.
Overall, this property is a beatiful home needing only a few simple fixes to make it home.
