Brilliant House, Staff and View

11 of us stayed in a house that could have easily housed another 4-5 folks. House was gorgeous, and well-appointed. We also paid for the option to have food served in the house, which was a super choice, since it has a large family-sized table, and we were able to have the younger children crash if needed. It helped that the food was excellent! Would absolutely recommend this place to any largish group who are looking for a no-hassle, very relaxing 3-4 days, but who also value quality and service. Do take advantage of the owner's offer to pre-stock with groceries before arrival - we found this incredibly useful.

Pleasantly surprised

Our travel group of five couples booked Hacienda del Secreto as a true VRBO, after which we realized this house is part of a resort (which was not clear in the listing). It worked out fabulously though, and we highly recommend this to anyone looking for something in the area that's NOT part of a huge resort complex. Early communication could have been a bit better, but once we got closer to our arrival date everything fell into place nicely. We used 3 days of the Hacienda meal plan and the chef and service was well above par. Oscar and staff were great to work with and met every need we had - even the little requests. Doy and her team are committed to making their little slice of Heaven a destination to visit often.

A Special Place

Great House & Location!

Overall the property is great!! Good location, close to the airport, Oscar and the whole staff were great, good food! The only cons is that seaweed some days was bad, we were lucky to get 3-4 good days. Overall very good experience and highly recommended!

The staff at this property is amazing. Oscar was simply perfect and attentive to all our needs. He went grocery shopping at 9:30 pm for us. Can't say enough about them. The villa is right on the beach, and its your own private oasis. You don't want for anything.

Christmas 2020

We chose to rent a house over the holidays for two reasons: 1) to allow for isolation during the pandemic, and 2) to facilitate interactions with our family (we had 8 of us ranging from 15 -81 years of age). We were successful with both objectives. The house was nice and well-appointed. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and 3 downstairs (1 master and 2 other bedrooms on each floor). The main floor has a larger kitchen and eating area. The 2nd floor has a smaller kitchen and eating area. It was nice to have multiple areas where you could fix food and eat. The 2nd floor balcony has a nice table for 8 that provided great venues for dinner a couple nights. The staff was outstanding. The house was always clean. We had all our meals served in the house. The food was good quality and the food presentation/service was great. Oscar - the on site concierge - was fantastic. We had so many meal and activity changes, that I am sure we tried his patience. But, he delivered each time. The house is right on the beach - with easy access. Very convenient when you have lots of people who want to come and go as they please. There were plenty of beach toys (kayaks, paddle board, boogie boards, life jackets, etc.). One issue we had is that the beach in front of our property was washed away on the last night we were there. Apparently this happens on a regular basis - and the waves eventually redeposit the sand. You still have beach access, but not in front of the property. It would have been a bit of a bummer if we had arrived and there were just rocks in front of our property. As it was, we were able to enjoy the sand beach up until our last day. A couple things to note if you are renting: - bring cash to pay all incidentals. If you want to use a credit card, you are charged a 20% fee. Bring cash to tip the staff. They work very hard and tips are critical to them. And, they will earn every penny. Overall, we had a great time. And, I would recommend this property if you are looking for a nice beach front house that makes it easy to hangout with your family.

Best Vacation EVER

This house was perfect for our large family vacation. With 11 people, we were very comfortable. Being only steps away from the ocean was fantastic. The kayaks and boogie boards were an extremely fun addition. The pool and jacuzzi were nice for the little ones. The staff was kind enough to put up an extra umbrella at the beach and hang hammocks for us in the trees. Nester was so kind and attentive to us. He even brought us aloe vera when he noticed our red skin! We were spoiled for a week and are already talking about coming back! Being back home, I'm missing the sounds of the ocean from my window. As my 10 year old son said..."Best Vacation EVER!"

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful time at this rental. Our family of 16 stayed there. The house is beautiful and well equipped. The location is private, but has all the amenities you need and is close to groceries, restaurants, and the airport. The staff was amazing: good food, clean house and gardens, maintained pool and beach area. We would definitely come back! Thanks for a great stay.

House is stunning. High quality fixtures and furniture. Very clean! House is cleaned thrice daily. Loved that. Beach is unparalleled. Very safe and secure. Very private. Puerto Morelos and PDC are very close. Would recommend renting a car.

Amazing propery!

I can't say enough great things about this property. We rented casa del secteto for an extended family vacation consisting of 10 of us. This house was amazing and accommodated us comfortably. It was so nice to have a pool to ourselves and direct access to the beach whenever we wanted. We had an opportunity to watch beautiful sea turtles lay their eggs at night right on the beach by our house. We enjoyed their spa services as well as a private yoga class, both of which were amazing. The service was excellent and any time we needed anything the staff was just a phone call away. I can't say enough great things about this property. We will definitely be back here.
