A Perfect Stay!

We absolutely loved this hotel. The location was perfect within walking distance to the Rady Shell where we were seeing John Mullany and the waterfront in general. The hotel itself was clean and absolutely beautiful. That chandelier! Then there was the food! Room service was some of the very best we've ever had. I have never raved over a charcuterie board before! The bed was super comfortable and concierge was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I have nothing negative to say. Will absolutely stay there any time I'm in San Diego.

Location is a bit shady as that part of town has seen better times. Valet parking and bell service are excellent. Room condition was good, except for some old food left on carpet. Water pressure so-so. Room orientation very nice. Oddly they have no internet. The gym was nice, a couple of elliptical and a couple of treadmills & free weights. I asked about extending my stay and their reply was to use 3rd party. That was a bit odd. Overall a very nice hotel with few flaws. But dudes, spend just a little for internet … people have work to do, a trip to coffee shop just to get some work done is inconvenient.

This hotel is fabulous! The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. Even though we were in middle of the city, we could not hear any street noise. The hotel staff were top notch. We were able to check in early (which was a surprise bonus) and the front desk staff made some suggestions on things to do and not miss while in San Diego. The location was a little north of the chaos of gaslamp district. It is a little calmer but still walking distance. It is also a short walk to Little Italy. We had delicious drinks in the hotel lounge and enjoyed the relaxed vibe.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay at The U.S. Grant! We arrived a bit later than planned for our Thursday night celebration, and yet Manager Kim and the entire team went above and beyond to make it truly special for my wife and me. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable from start to finish. From housekeeping to bell staff, valet, and concierge, everyone made sure we had everything we needed and more. A special shoutout to Edie, our server on Thursday, for her warm and attentive hospitality. The rooms were immaculate, and just soaking in the history of the hotel was an experience in itself. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and can’t wait to return. Thank you to the entire U.S. Grant team for an unforgettable experience!

Tell management to put a 2nd chair in the room.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff very friendly. However, I cannot give it high marks and will never stay there again because of the room. It had only one chair. There was no place for 2 people to sit. One of us always had to either sit on the floor or on the bed while spending time in the room, thus making it most uncomfortable. Totally unacceptable for a 5 star hotel.

It was an ok stay

This hotel looked so great in pics. The lobby is very pretty. The Grant Grill was nice. But then you go up the elevator. The rooms are not very nice for the price. The cleanliness is not up to par. Our view in our first room was atrocious. They “upgraded” Us. It wa the exact same room but a view of 3rd street rather than the roof. I would not go back to this hotel. No pool either.
