Hobbit Hollow House is a turn of the nineteenth century Colonial Revival farmhouse located in beautiful Skaneateles, NY, the Gateway to the Finger Lakes. Our property offers spectacular views of our own White Birch Vineyards and Skaneateles Lake, known worldwide for its unspoiled beauty. In addition to vineyard and lake views, our guest rooms overlook colorful meadows, rolling hills and Hobbit Hollow Farm's beautiful barn and horse stables.

Hobbit Hollow House features six elegant and comfortable guest rooms, each uniquely appointed with well-crafted furniture and amenities that will make your stay more enjoyable, such as gas fireplaces, private porches and whirlpool tubs. The house was used for a college friends’ weekend. The house was perfect for this with large bedrooms rooms with adjoining bathrooms for each one of us. Also, there were great gathering spaces including the spacious dining room.

Our stay at Hobbit Hollow was absolutely perfect! The property is even more stunning in person than the photos suggest—and even more beautiful than I remembered from my initial tour. We truly loved every aspect of our experience. The interior is stunning, and so are the grounds. The horses were out pretty much our entire stay for us to watch and enjoy. Daniel, the property manager, went above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless. He provided clear details about the property, assisted our wedding vendors with setup, and was incredibly responsive before, during, and after our stay. His attentiveness made the entire process stress-free.I cannot recommend this property enough for a stay or special event. Thank you to Daniel and the entire Hobbit Hollow team for helping us create such an unforgettable wedding and stay!

Magical! We were in town attending my niece's wedding, and we extended our stay for a family vacation. We loved Hobbit Hollow and can't wait to return for another family vacation. Perfect number of rooms and bathrooms and plenty of gathering areas for the entire family. Loved eating breakfast out on the screened porch and the sounds of the horses naying in the morning. Perfect spot for all ages, and so close to town. I grew up in Skaneateles on West Lake Street, and it's always magical to return. Hobbit Hollow felt like our second home. Will be back for sure!!

Family Fun

A great gathering of family and friends to celebrate the 4th of July, a new marriage and two birthdays. The house was perfect, spacious and very comfortable. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and kitchen worked perfectly for our mostly outside party. Location is very convenient, and the lake view a nice bonus, highly recommend.

Bedrooms and bathrooms spotless. Kitchen, well equipped; outdoor lawns and landscape were gorgeous; three tables in the backyard seated many and held lots of food platters. Three of our children had a riding lesson with Marissa, they were thrilled! The super huge dining room table was a perfect gathering place with everyone finding a spot. Love the up and down, screened in porches, too! We had gathered for our 50th wedding anniversary with family from all over the country! We had a great time. You will enjoy every minute if you are lucky enough to stay in this gorgeous property. The house itself is spacious and welcoming with breathtaking views of the lake and paddocks out of every window. Kitchen is well equipped. Just a 3 minute ride to the Town of Skaneateles.

Hi, we had a nice tome with you this weekend. A few items. There are a lot of ants int he kitchen. Not a biggie for me, but maybe others down the road will care. When using the stove the fire alarm goes off when there is no visible smoke. Stay well and thank you!

Wonderful old, grand farmhouse

This house was perfect for our friends to stay at while in town. It provides the perfect combination of large communal spaces and private areas for some alone time. Ample parking is a plus for multiple families staying together. Very close to the village yet far enough away to get out of the crowds for some quiet relaxation. You can tell it is professionally cleaned and maintained. Has all the old character of a grand Greek revival farmhouse with all the modern amenities.

Hobbit Hollow House was perfect for our group. The spacious house has large and comfortable gathering places both inside and out. All bedrooms were large and comfortable. The host kindly supplied bottles of wine from White Birch Vineyard, pasties and bottled water. The location was great with a view of the lake and close to town. We could not have had a better experience and we hope to visit again.

Exceptional!

We were in love at first sight when we pulled into the driveway of the Hobbit Hollow House. Gorgeous setting with a view of Skaneateles Lake on the one side, and rolling green pastures on the other side. The home itself is very well appointed, and had everything and more that we needed for our stay. We were attending a wedding for my niece, and we will be booking again for future family events! Loved it so much!

A Lovely Property

Stayed at Hobbit Hollow three nights over a wedding weekend in Skaneateles. Spacious, well equipped, gorgeous property. Great location with lovely views of the lake and the horse farm. Amazing Property

Amazing place to stay. House is fantastic and has everything you need for supplies, especially for a group that needs 6 bedrooms. Location is spectacular - beautiful horse farm, gorgeous lake, and spacious grounds. Perfect for relaxing or entertaining. And the delicious pastries and wine that was left for us was a wonderful extra touch. Would absolutely stay there again if we are in the area. Skaneateles is a really nice town for a get away - lots of character, things to do, and beautiful (especially in spring/summer/fall). Host was very responsive as well.

Siblings Reunion and Solar Eclipse

Our group of 6 adults stayed at Hobbit Hollow House from April 6th - 9th, 2024. It was a long overdue reunion with my sister and brother and our spouses. We are all in our 70s and we had searched through all of the listings in the NY Finger Lakes region before choosing Hobbit Hollow. For us, the historic style and grandeur of the home was a deciding factor. We were not disappointed! We were very impressed with the overall decor and quality of the furnishings. The rooms are larger than we expected and very nicely appointed. The grounds are great for exploring with great views of the lake. Everything was perfect! We highly recommend Hobbit Hollow House!

A Very Special Historic House

We loved our stay at Hobbit Hollow! With super large rooms to beautiful antiques and carpets, we were a large group and we enjoyed entertaining in this beautiful home. The kitchen was commercial grade and the dining room sat 14, with lovely Wedgwood china and sterling silver. Bedrooms and baths were nicely appointed. They even tastefully decorated for the holiday season.

Family Birthday and holiday celebration

Charming inn and property! Our family including adult 'kids' and grandchildren were thrilled with the home and the surrounds. The stretched out roominess of the inn made it easy to enjoy it and each other, and we used all six bedrooms! We were fortunate to be in town when the Dickens weekends began. We were also lucky to be able to see young people in the corral behind the inn competing in horseback riding and jumping. Lovely sight! The inn has all one needs for a group get-together! And the countryside and the lake are beautiful surroundings.

Hobbit House

We had a great stay, family came into town for our daughter’s wedding and everyone loved the house. Location was very convenient to downtown Skaneateles and the wedding venue. Olivia was quick to respond to any questions. All bedrooms had individual bathrooms which made it easy for 12 adults to get ready. House is grand, historic and very well maintained. We enjoyed reading about its history and look forward to returning for future gatherings in the area.
