Beautiful generous house but needs maintenance
At first I was super impressed with the photos on the website and knew this was going to be the perfect location for a small getaway with family and friends. However, until you actually step foot into the property you soon realise that this ginormous mansion could use a deep clean and some maintenance - a shame for such a beautiful property. We took photos as we checked in and throughout the stay just so we had it as evidence.
Disappointed over the quality of the BBQ as we planned on using it all weekend, it was disgusting and had looked like it had never gotten cleaned. Pool area had clothing items and a knife by the drainage just chilling there. There was a bread roll under the couch of the living area and ping pong balls lying around. Toiletries not kept away instead spread across all drawers, sink benches and showers (she had given me a rule stating not to touch their dresses or toiletries yet had them out everywhere). Single bed mattress frame upstairs is broken and Iâm going to assume thatâs why they added a mattress in front of it on the floor?
On the first day only hot water was available in the main bedroom ensuite out of 5 showers and 6 sinks?? Second day hot water was finally available in all showers and sinks. Bath tub and jacuzzi did not have a plug/stopper so we did not use at all. No floor mats in any bathroom in front of the shower.
On the second day the sun finally came out and we were able to enjoy the outdoor area as well as the pool but from about 4:30pm I received 5 missed calls from the property owner asking me to turn the music down?! Now the outdoor doors connecting to the living area was fully open and if Iâm being honest was not loud at all for a Saturday afternoon. The kids next door and the dogs next door were louder than us the entire weekend yet we didnât mind nor complain. Not sure if they were spying on us through their security cameras placed outside or we had a neighbour complaint? But we had been playing music all weekend at the same volume and as soon as we opened up the sliding doors apparently was too much?
Evidently I did enjoy my stay and for what itâs worth the price is nothin to argue about but for such a beautiful property should they not invest time and money into cleaning and maintaining it to standards? Iâm pretty sure we cleaned the place better than the cleaners had and thatâs saying something. Suited for low key and if you donât mind cleaning and having your actions patrolled!!
