Liked the historic charm of the hotel. Good location. The interior was “fine,” but a little rough around the edges, especially as they only reopened a couple years ago. The guy working the reception desk on check-in was great—friendly and helped us get into our room a little early. Much appreciated. The woman working the desk the next morning less helpful. I misplaced my purse at some point the morning of checkout and didn’t realize until we were a few hours down the road. When I called the hotel to ask her to check on the situation (did I leave it on our room?) her response was a bit half-hearted. I had to call back to follow up with her and there was no urgency on her end (unlike the response from the restaurant from the night before when I called with the same request—they made me feel like they cared about my predicament and were eager to help). The missing purse was in no way the hotel’s problem—but I wish I would have felt like they appreciated my situation and my recent patronage a bit more. It would have gone a long way in the name of customer relations and significantly increase the chances of my loyalty in the form of repeat visits.

The building is old and any noise easily propagates into the room. Especially the cleaning staff were loud. The room I stayed was small so that chair could hardly fit behind the desk. The lightning of the room was off too - very cold light for room is annoying imho. The wires were dangling form ceiling - lousy finishing.
