Disappointing

The lobby is nice, but the room was small, outdated and shabby.  The staff wasn't overly helpful, when I asked the bell desk for directions, they put little effort  into listening to where I was going and sent me to the wrong subway station.  In the middle of the night the fire alarm went off for 30 minutes without any apology to the guests.  Room service was overpriced and not exceptional.  The location is central, but there are nicer places nearby.

beautiful hotel with expensive parking

the hotel is located right in the middle of downtown. the location is awesome within walking distance to the eaton center and china town. the area was also a very clean, very safe part of town and we had no issue walking around at 3 in the morning. the hotel itself has a great bar and the building is beautiful. the room was nice but nothing extraordinary. the parking was expensive and a little confusing since the valet offered us the option of parking at another building down the street. we ultimately decided to bit the bullet and pay the $40 a night for the convenience of not having to worry about dealing with the other garage. i also found it strange that no one offered to help us with our bags given the valet service but that wasn't a huge deal. overall, great experience.

Great location and room

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
Awesome suite--very clean and modern looking. Loved the convenience of the hotel location and also what the suite had to offer. Also, we had a corner suite and could see the CN Tower. I would absolutely book there again!

The initial response to the hotel was WOW!!

Pros: Close restaurants, on yonge street lots to do
Cons: Noisy, the wall!
Then we got to our room and it was wow, a view of a blue painted wall. I don't know what it was supposed to be, but no matter how much blue and white cloud type paint you put on a wall, it is still a Wall. I wonder if the Wall changes color with the seasons...red and yellow for fall?!?! I swear I heard "how should I complete the Wallllllllll?" Other than the view, there were some odd stains on the carpet, a dent in the roof (yes, a dent, wow?), and it was a very dark room even with the lamps on. "Good bye cruel world I'm leaving you today, good bye, good bye...good bye...." It wasn't till the next day that I realized that we were next to a staff room or staff pool room or general hotel meeting place cause WOW were these people noisy. Other than the above, it was an adequate room. The bed was comfortable and clean. There is wi-fi, but apparently only in the lobby area, although we were able to get a signal in our room(maybe the Wall acts as a signal boost??). The bad thing is the the password changes everyday, so make sure you stop at the desk to get a new password each time. I think we'd stay there again, maybe in the winter time just to see if the Wall changes to a white only colour. "Tear down the Wall!!"

Friendly staff and comfy bed

Pros: Request by text Historical significance/bank history vicinity to subway, CN centre, mall Easy check in and out
Cons: Valet pricing
Location: vicinity to subway, CN centre, mall Over Easy restaurant with good breakfast items
I enjoyed my staff at OKW. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful. The request via text message was a plus. The bartenders were great. I was given a free upgrade, but I every night I had request more towels. We booked for 3 ppl and would get linens and towels for 2. Valet is expensive @ $45 daily but you do have in and out privileges. The garage feels up fast and, if that's the case, you will have to park at the lot on the next book.

Good hotel choice for downtown

Pros: Room decor, kitchenette, good shower
Cons: One light was burned out
Location: Everything from train station to opera house to shopping -- right downtown Toronto
Well located with well appointed rooms. It's helpful to have refrigerator and microwave for longer stays

Nice bartenders and friendly house floor staff!

Pros: View from room, historic site, location downtown.
Cons: The bathroom was getting a bit shabby. Repairs were needed. The room could have at least had coffee and/or tea makings, and bottled water.
Location: Great location next to all kinds of public transit, very close to Union Station and City Island ferries, the Public Market, and lively streets.
We were initially impressed with the desk staff, security and easy check in. Our room, on the 20th floor, was tight but adequate and comfortably decorated. We had a peak view of the lake. The bed was good, but I was surprised that there were only two pillows. The tiny bathroom had a constantly running toilet and the glass shower door was slipping out of its hinges. We turned off the water to the toilet to sleep. I called downstairs in the morning. The toilet was repaired, but the shower food wasn't, so the shower leaks onto the floor. Oh well, not my problem! Avoid the $24.95 breakfast buffet. Outside, across the street, coffee, pasties, yogurt, etc. is for sale at 1/4 the price. At night, the bartenders are not too busy to make good cocktails and offer friendly service.

Great location

Staff very rigid and uninterested in providing real customer service. Try talking to them and no one listens. There only interest is charging every possible $ they can.

A very pleasant stay in Toronto

Pros: The staff and decor were outstanding.
Cons: 1) Ice machines on the individual floors would be nice, instead of only one on the 12th floor. 2) Internet access was slow.
Location: Go to the Marce Restaurant. It is about ten different restaurants under a single roof.
My wife and I stayed for 4 days in the King West hotel while attending her nephews wedding held at the hotel. We found the staff to be friendly, courteous and attentive. The rooms were very nice, well apportioned and comfortable to be in.
