Not a 4 star hotel

Cons: Nothing close, Noisy, Poor breakfast, sweltering small dark rooms
Beware that this hotel does not have air conditioning for their standard rooms. Also, you cannot park in the underground unless you have a small car. Rooms are small and you need to keep the blinds down unless you want everyone looking right in your room. The beds are doubles and not queens so your feet hang off if you are 6' or over. Also they sag in the middle. There is only one ice machine in the parking garage and only one elevator. The cheapest hotel I've every stayed in. They cut every corner to make money. I'm not sure how they are rated so high. Maybe they vote for themselves. Don't stay here.

Good Value

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Perfect for a one night stop in Banff. Restaurant food was good. Only thing that let it down was we didn't sleep that well probably because the pillows were too large (thick) for us.

The pool is like the cave and basin but was not open due to repairs.

Like the Friendly Staff / Bus Tickets / Newspaper. Dislike the Not Enough Parking situation.

Good Banff hotel stay and location.

Pros: Overall this was a good location and value. Staff were first-class and helpful.
Cons: Our room could use a good cleaning.
Location: There are many national parks with varying levels and types of attractions. Icefields Parkway is the best and most overrun. Yoho is great too.
This hotel is located along Banff Ave along what I might call 'hotel row'. It is within walking distance of downtown Banff. Hotel staff was very helpful in assisting us in getting our bearings. The lobby projects a rugged outdoor feel. Free parking is an added plus. The lone ice machine is by the parking area, in the basement. Staff directed us to the Tourist Info Centre, where we met a gentleman who got us the correct admission fees for the surrounding national parks, provided us the best locations to visit in the parks, correctly recommended restaurants (Masalas, Salt Lick). Chili's restaurant for continental breakfast was OK. I hope you like mostly bread stuffs, there was not opportunity to upgrade. It's also a bit dark and noisy in the breakfast area. Our room was okay. I might say a bit modern but carpets needed cleaning. Queen bed. No extra blanket. Slightly worn couch. Smallish bathroom. No exhaust vent for steaming up the bathroom. WiFi and data port available for internet access. Basic cable TV channels. A spa-like hot springs area in the basement, so bring your swimsuit. Small amenities in the room. ie soap, shampoo, etc.

Excellent hotel in Banff

Pros: clean rooms, good price, good location, comfortable beds, mini kitchen
Cons: more variety in their breakfast offerings, such as meat or hot foods other than waffles and toast.
Location: close to exit from highway, and about 5-10 minute walk to downtown Banff.
Close to downtown, but not too close. The breakfasts at the attached Chili's were good, but not very varied. Great rooms, and we got upgraded to two connected rooms. The hot tub/pool was relaxing, and we wished we'd done it every night instead of just the last. Parking in the lower level was a bit crowded, but we always found a spot. The staff was helpful. Get one of the Roam cards to take the bus around town!

Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Free breakfast
I originally had a single room with two twin beds but opted for master bedroom suite which had AC. Nights are cool enough but the week I was there the days were warm and AC felt good if in your room in the afternoon. I walk is quite a few blocks from downtown but doable and complimentary bus service is a plus. My room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend this hotel.
