Great Resort, parking situation could be better

Went for our annual weekend to see the Banff Mountain Film festival - this was the first time we've stayed at Hidden Ridge & we will be back. The staff was great, nice clean condo with fireplace, great views and access to several walking paths. My only issues were the 'Queen' size beds seemed a little smaller than other Queens I've slept in with my spouse, and parking was not good (the lots & parkades were often totally full and parking was not assigned, so we had to park quite far away and illegally on the Saturday night along with many others). The outdoor heated pools looked really nice, but were so jam packed with people that we decided against it - there wouldn't have been any room  to fit 2 more, unfortunately.

Beautiful and Friendly

My GF and I stayed at Hidden Ridge for two nights on August 27th-29th. This resort is breathtaking. Our first impression of the area was nothing but positive thoughts. Wood Style buildings make you feel cozy. the front desk employees were very helpful and provided us with great customer service. the room was kept nice and tidy and maintenance was there in a heart beat when my GF decide to blew the fuse doing her hair LOL... They provided wood for the fire place and will send someone to help start the fire as they did to us. the only issue we had was not related to the hotels and the amenities, it was bc of our Truck we had and finding parking was difficult since it required 2 spots. non the less the employees allowed us to park on the side and not worry about parking enforcement giving tickets, the employees always strive to do their best to make us feel comfortable.  If you are worried about transportation dont worry, they provide a bus pass, very convenient as the bus comes every 40mins and runs until 11:45pm! once again another great feature included with your stay... and parking is also free. Taking a evening dip on the hot springs at the resort was nothing but pure bliss and relaxation with the view of sunset and the beautiful mountains. In overall, it was our first visit to Banff and did not know where to stay with soo much options. However, we hit the jackpot and will always return to this resort when we return to Banff... Thanks again Hidden Ridge Resort and employees for making our stay a unforgettable one!

Hottub was down all week - FAIL

We have stayyed at this resort every year since 2004 and have recommended this place to many friends. However, after our last stay there we will not be back. Our main reason for staying there was because of the hottub. They had issues with it all week and it was not even warm, for our entire 5 night stay. We will not be back and the recommendations will cease. Not happy at all!

it was a good stay

Pros: Close restaurants
we found the deal on the internet and after checking out the reviews for this site we decided to stay there. Our whole family was there and we were all in close proximity to one another. The resort had a nice feel to it and the rooms were clean, well organized and gave us everything we needed to make our own meals. There were a couple of people that worked there that could have been a little more friendly but overall they were fine.

The property was very beautiful but the room smelled like fire all the time. The walls dirty and the screens in the sliding door and windows all broken it was a very depressing room to come back too all the time. Floors unclean also.

Spacious. Far from town but you get free Roam bus passes to get around. The only complaint is the people above were really loud with heavy feet. “Thump, thump, thump”

Needs Major Updating

Pros: Great location and views. Hot tub was great.
Cons: Carpet, beds, couches need to be replaced.
Location: Lots of great hiking and things to do in Banff. We loved our time in the town of Banff.
The location is fantastic. Gorgeous views. The rooms need a lot of updating. The beds were horribly uncomfortable, the refrigerator didn't work (found this out when our milk went sour), and there was no comfortable place to sit in the living area. Great layout for the condo, but didn't feel that it was terribly clean. Also, lots of noise outside of our room in the middle of the night.

Worst experience on our trip

The very first thing my wife and I noticed when entering our room was an overwhelming cigarette smoke smell. We were close to asking for a new room but it was late at night and we were exhausted so we decided to just deal with it. The room was also very hot so I walked around looking for some sort of AC unit but couldn't find anything. We go to bed and were hot, sweating and extremely uncomfortable, even with the covers off. I decided to open a window to let in some cool outside air, except now we had to listen to drunk people yelling loudly. After being kept awake by drunk people until12:30 am, I decided to just shut the window and deal with the heat. We slept horribly the rest of the night and woke up to find that the water had been turned off on the entire premises, so we couldn't even use water to shower, flush toilets, make coffee, brush our teeth etc. When checking out I mentioned the smoke smell to the person at the front desk and she was very unconcerned, so I didn't even bother getting into the rest of the issues. Oh and the wifi signal was too weak to use in the bedroom we slept in. We had to go into the living room area to get a signal. Overall I'd say this was one of my worst hotel experiences ever. On the plus side the "condos" can sleep a lot of people and there's a full kitchen. There's a fireplace that can be enjoyed if the room isn't already hotter than hades.
