Probably a great hotel... in 1990.

Great size for a suite, jacuzzi in the room is a must and the king size bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the room was not very clean, lots of hair in the bed and in the bathroom. The worst part was that the shower drain was clogged, so the bathtub was filling up. Not great to take a shower with our feet in 10-12" of water. TV is way too small and way too far from the bed. Soundproofing isn't great, hearing everything in the hallways and the highway close by. You can tell that this hotel use to be a great option... 20-25 years ago. The elevator gave me goosebumps, it feels like its gonna drop at any given moment. The breakfast is far too limited, even for a continental option, with only plain cereal, a few bakeries and yogurt. Overall, decent place, but the jacuzzi sweet was not worth the 800$ for 3 nights. Will try a different hotel on my next stay in Barrie

There was a terrible musty smell. I switched rooms but still there. I ended up buying air fresheners to be able to manage it. Older facilities that could use some refreshing. Elevator is pretty clunky and can be a bit worrisome. Shower had a strong power which was great. Breakfast is an extra charge if you want eggs but was not bad.

Overall good

Monte Carlo Inn, was overall good. The people were friendly, the pool was clean. and the room was also clean. It is an old Hotel, and that shows in decor, but otherwise it was goof

While adequate it could be easily improved. The room door had no sound or light baffling around it. Simple enough to fix with a trip to Home Depot. The breakfast is manned by one person... unable to keep up with filling the offerings and wiping off the used tables. And the layout is congested and difficult to navigate... often found 5-6 people bumping into each other trying to get at the components. The area is small industrial... you can walk to Tim Horton's but that is about it.

Family vacation

The hotel is relatively clean.Our hotel room was ok, but had a few issues, the bathroom door would not lock, the bathtub drain stopper was broken so we could not use the tub for a bath. Although the beds were fairly comfortable, every time you moved it would squeak loudly. The air conditioner unit was very loud. The breakfast venue was very disorganized. Not sure we would stay there again….
