Didnt have a problem with the hotel itself. The room was spacious. Our problem was the noise. There seems to be zero sound proofing. The hotel was full, seemed to be lots of people for youth sports teams staying and the room above us sounded like a full on tournament going on.
At first we thought it was someone just dragging their suitcase across the floor but it continued repetively for 20 minutes, with the addition of stomping, and something bouncing. Dont get me wrong, we have young kids, i know they can be noisy. We waited until 11pm to see if it would settle but when it continued to increase in volumn we called the front desk who said they would call the above room and ask them to quiet down. I can only guess the adults of said room were those in the lobby and didnt receive the message as after the phone call someone above literally just started jumping on the spot and slamming a chair up and down. It took 3 more phone calls until midnight before the noise settled, around the same time the lobby cleared. Could be coincidence.
Although this is a loud guest issue, not a staff member being incompetent at their job issue, i do believe the sound proofing or lack of is more of a concern, as even a sneeze could be heard above in the morning.
