To start this is a nice property. Our room was quite nice with plenty of space. The staff was personable and offered great service. Our Butler Eduardo checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. We appreciated the daily updates as to what was happening on the resort. We enjoyed the spa where we received 80 minute massages my therapist was Estela who gave me the best massage I have ever had. We found the hydrotherapy to be more tedious than relaxing but overall it was an enjoyable experience. We stayed Preferred which I would recommend. especially for the bar, private pool, and daily food offerings which was always fun. Loved the constant care from Joel our pool concierge. As well as the Birthday love from him and my butler Eduardo. We did not use our evening butler but he introduced himself and I am sure would have attended to all our needs. Didn't love the time share sales pitch upon arrival, I had read about it so I knew it was coming, I was exhausted the timing was not good, it was only a offer to go to the sales breakfast but still not a fan. Beverages didn't have much booze, many of the cocktails tasted more like mocktails. Even after asking for doubles or specific brands you only got a hint of booze. If you sit at the Preferred Bar you might be more likely to get what you want.Regulars to Secrets seem to have a way to navigate this seems like a lot of work. Food was hit or miss. Breakfast and Oceano was my favorite, as well as preferred pool offerings.

Probably the most beautiful property we have ever been to! Beach location was perfect. Absolutely no seaweed. Food at the restaurants were all amazing. No reservations required and no wait! Service was nothing spectacular and we have had better at less expensive hotels. Overall this was a great stay!

Beautiful new hotel. Loved the service and cleanliness. The room smelled nice and fresh and the bed was comfortable. The gathering areas such as lobby bar and theater are outside with no A/C. Also, I didn’t like that you had to wear long pants in the restaurants for dinner or sit outside where it’s hot. I really loved the sushi and the Asian food the best. Overall, we had a relaxing and fun time!

The resort was beautiful and very relaxing! Our butlers Duran & Gerardo were so helpful and very friendly! They helped my husband to decorate our hotel room for my birthday! The food was good.. the only thing that I was upset about was the romantic dinner on the beach.. it was by the pool. I was disappointed because we were promised by the beach but when we got there they said Nadia plan for the pool and it would be an extra charge. When I contacted Nadia she told me “it was supposed to rain” but other than that everything was great!

Beautiful place BUT Average / below average quality food - just like any secrets resorts. If you travel a lot in higher end resorts, you know you go to Secrets because of the beautiful landscapes and resort vibe overall, but not the food. Be very careful the fish and some of the meats. Boyfriend and I both got sick from the Japanese restaurant (like throwing up the food kind of sick). This is the second time this happens at a Secrets resort- same thing happened at Secrets Akumal a couple of years back. The place is absolutely beautiful though- many options for pools and walks and beach and activities if you want to be entertained. The resort is big and fun to walk through at night, total beach jungle luxury vibe. Great place for photos too. The resort lacks bathrooms!! We were very surprised most bathroom locations had one single stall only and not easy to get to from the main pool / beach. There was always a line. We booked a regular room and ended up upgrading to ocean front to be closer to the beach - it was worth the access they give you to their upgraded services for the quieter pool and lounge, so if you are into more of a chill/ not loud music vibe, the upgrade is worth it. Service is also average- other resorts are more attentive to help with towels or get you drinks service when you go to the pool / beach and sit down or are looking for a place. Beach had seaweed & windy every day. Maybe just the weather. So depending on how picky you are… now you know!

Secrets Playa Blanca is truly a gem. This hotel is aesthetically one of the most beautiful properties I have seen on Mexico’s Eastern coastline. The trip started off shaky with problems at check-in, but everything thereafter was nearly perfect. The grounds, rooms, pools, and beach were all absolutely stunning. The service was excellent. The personal butlers (Eddy and Ana) were incredible and would fulfill any requests without hesitation, I had read previously that the butlers weren’t worth the preferred club upgrade, but I disagree. The staff at this hotel are fantastic. They go out of their way to ensure you are having an amazing vacation. Aside from the butlers, I want to thank Omar from the preferred club, as well as Francisco and Cesar at the Jungle pool. Also our housekeeper Areyl who was so wonderful. The spa was also heavenly, both in the environment and the services. The only major area that could use some improvement is the food. But all in all the food was pretty good for an all-inclusive property. It’s just with everything else from the facilities to the service being so elevated and luxurious, despite attempts, the food doesn’t quite match up. That was fairly minor though and I love this resort and cannot wait to plan my next stay! Thank you Secrets Playa Blanca!
