My stay at L Hotel was nothing short of magical in this very charming city. All of the staff were warm, friendly, helpful and took an interest in me. As a solo woman traveler of a certain age, I felt exceptionally safe at the property and venturing to and from, even late at night. I loved capping off each night in the hotel wine bar…a lovely way to unwind, reflect on my day’s adventures and plan for the next day’s activities. I will definitely return to both the Old City, and to the L Hotel.

It’s an enjoyable funky hotel w amazing artwork that is so eclectic. My only issue: suitcases and stairs don’t mix. So if someone was always available or some type of luggage ramp was provide from the street leve all the better. And the bath towels are very small but the bathrobes were great. Total pleasant experience. Staff was wonderful

The staff were all very pleasant, the hotel was neat with a very eclectic feel to it. It was very walkable, which we loved! The breakfast ( I wouldn’t really call a breakfast), more of a snack. The room was large, quiet, and beds/ pillows were wonderful, however the carpets we pretty stained. All in all it was a nice hotel.

Overall, a lovely stay.

Overall, we had a lovely stay at the LHotel in Montreal. We had some trouble with the credit card machine on check-in and we’re told that they only take credit cards (not debit). But my debit card worked fine there eventually. The elevator button on our floor was not working so we had to take the stairs down every day until the last day or so. Breakfast was coffee/juice and croissants. The croissants were delicious, but I would’ve appreciated a decaf option. The decor is kind of a maximalist. Americana meets old movie buff. With the current political climate in the US I would’ve appreciated seeing less American flags after we came to a Canada to get away from all that. The staff was very kind and the person who cleaned our room was excellent. We also really appreciated the high-end bath products and the comfortable bed. They would benefit from redoing their hotel information books in the room, because policies like laundry services are no longer available since Covid five years ago. The location was great and we were able to walk to restaurants and public transportation fairly easily.

Nice and clean room, spacious and very close to Old Montreal (~12 minutes walk). We really enjoyed our stay here. The only downside is their "breakfast" included was not a breakfast in any way at all, it's just either tea or coffee with a few types of pastries. I would call it morning coffee and pastries instead of breakfast, lol! But besides that, everything is great, the staff is nice too!

We stayed at LHotel Montreal for two nights with my brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law just before their wedding, and it was absolutely spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warmth and genuine friendliness that made us feel so welcome. The service throughout was flawless—helpful, professional, and delivered with such charm. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Old Montreal, steps from great restaurants, shops, and the historic waterfront. It felt like the perfect base to soak in the city. The rooms themselves were not only comfortable but wonderfully unique—each space had character and flair that made it feel memorable rather than just another hotel. What truly surprised us was the art collection—everywhere you turned, there were unexpected treasures, from contemporary pieces to bold statement art. It felt more like staying in a private gallery than a hotel! On top of all that, it was incredible value for money. For the level of service, location, and experience, it exceeded all expectations. We’d return in a heartbeat and can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone visiting Montreal.

Hotel building itself is nice and I liked the look of the hotel but very dated. Carpet is in desperate need of being replaced. Rooms are dark as lighting is poor. Could use more counter space in bathroom as I was using the toilet seat to rest my makeup bag.

Lovely hotel and great location. Upon check in we found our room door propped open and waiting for us. First thing we noticed was the water glass in the bathroom was cracked and chipped very noticeably. I brought it down to the front desk and they asked me if I had broken it! I was given a new glass with no apology. Ten mins later we noticed something sticking out from under the tv stand. It was a pair of men’s underwear! I let the front desk know - again no apology they just nodded. The room was very comfortable and very nice but upon checkout we discovered the elevator had stopped working. It was stuck on the ground floor. I went down the stairs to speak to the desk and alert them about the elevator because we had a lot of heavy luggage. They tested it and said “yes it looks like it’s not working”. That was it. No offer to assist with luggage no options. So we packed up and headed to the stairs. Then we encountered an old couple waiting for the elevator. I told them it wasn’t working. Long story short between my daughter and I we carried some of their luggage as well as ours down the stairs - the old couple were struggling. I know that some things are beyond the control of the hotel but there were several young men standing at the valet desk who could have offered to help hotel guests who simply could not manage the stairs and luggage. Service was polite but disappointing and I give this review with mixed feelings because the actual hotel was quite nice.
