Staff very courteous but didn’t bring the pillow I requested. Lines always long at front desk. Need 2 mirrors in rooms!

I loved the decor of the hotel. A perfect mix of retro and contemporary. The room was comfortable and clean, All staff were pleasant, particularly the front desk personnel. I will stay here again when I come to the city.

The location was excellent for our plans this weekend, mostly events at Lincoln Center. But the room (807) left a lot to be desired. Mainly, the unreliable hot water situation could apparently not be fixed. When we got no hot water at all, a maintenance man was able to access it after running the faucets for quite a while. But after that, it was intermittent, going off in the middle of a shower or a shave. Almost equally annoying was the height of the bar in the closet. You'd have to be over 6 feet tall to reach the hangers easily; my short wife couldn't reach them at all without standing on a chair. I stretched on tip-toe. When I complained about the hot water at check-out, the clerk was unimpressed, blaming me for not complaining more frequently. Apparently, there's also a fee for wi-fi, which should be made clear on envelop containing the room keys. I don't know how else to explain the $26.99 fee for a "movie" on 2/18/19, discovered when I examined the bill more carefully at home. We didn't watch a movie at any time during our stay. It's a shame, too, that you can't get anything but a $25 buffet breakfast in the hotel. We went to the nearby Starbucks instead. We've stayed at the Empire several times and are sorry to see that it's apparently going down hill. We'll be looking for another hotel for our next visit to the City.

Prefect Location!! rooms quite small...kept tripping on the platform which extended beyond the mattress. The bathroom was TINY but did have shelves for personal items. The lobby bar was lovely. The 12th floor observation room was not adequate as a restaurant but did have drinks and appetizers.

Extremely dissatisfied with our room! The shower was broken and we could not shower in the evening after a long day. We had to call the front desk and they thankfully sent someone to fix it right away. But it was late and should not have been an issue at such a hotel. The style of the shower door allowed shower water into the entire bathroom and the floor was puddled. We put towels down to be able to walk. The heating/air unit was extremely dirty and had trash in the vent section (dirty Q-tip, wrappers, etc.). Also, all night long there was loud clanging in the wall and was very disturbing. For such a nice hotel, there was no complimentary water in our room. The price of a bottle was expensive at $5. This was our first time staying at the Empire Hotel. We were very disappointed and feel we could have spent our money more wisely elsewhere. Wish we could receive a full refund!
