This is an excellent hotel. Friendly staff. Great bar service. Complimentary wine and water. Car service to the airport at much better rate than Uber. All around this was an excellent stay!!!!

We stayed at the Evelyn because of a recommendation. But honestly although the stuff was pretty friendly. I wouldn’t opt to stay there again. The hotel was old, dark and gloomy. Our first room was literally just a box facing the dumpsters. We asked for an upgrade or to change the room they didn’t offer it for free so we opted to pay. We paid for a suite and even that was dark and all the windows were facing either walls or back of the house pipes. Overall sure stay there for a quick one night but if your stay is longer it’s a bit depressing.

Really nice stay. Hotel has a lovely art deco theme and is really conveniently located - we were able to walk everywhere. The grab and go breakfast is very good and handy. The room is small but comfortable. The gym was very small and would be difficult if more than two people were in it. Staff made you feel very welcome and gave a personalised performance.

Not bad. Not great.

We’ve stayed here before and this wasn’t great. We were supposed to get a Queen bed and it was a double/full at best. The air conditioning didn’t work/was extremely weak. But the toughest thing is how insanely noisy it is while trying to sleep. It’s as if the windows are open, so they obviously are old / need to be changed. Sadly, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

We have a nostalgic attachment to this hotel and stay here whenever we come to NYC. The hotel is conveniently located near all the sights, but the surrounding area is not overwhelmed with tourists, like the Times Square hotels are. Subways are a short walk away

Great hotel, really lovely and clean. The staff were always helpful when needed. Great place to visit attractions from. Note that the bottled water is only free from the main reception desk, all the waters in the room are chargeable. We were not told this when we checked in but the staff apologised. Would stay again as had such a great time.
