Front desk RJ and Janelli (sp?) bent over backwards to remedy a small issue we had with our room. (I’m highly allergic to feathers. The late check-in to our room complicated the feather-free request.) They were cognizant, considerate and proactive. It is only because of these two working that night that I would come back to this property. The daytime front desk staff the next afternoon, on the other hand, couldn’t be bothered with graciousness nor kindness towards the hotel guests. I despise having to look at the tops of heads when I’m standing there. At least acknowledge and provide a “good afternoon…I’ll be right with you.”

We traveled as a family with young kids and generally enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton Theta. Some things to note - staff service was hit and miss - some were really great and some not very friendly or helpful. The rooms are of good size and comfortable. The location is fantastic. The street noise is an issue and I strongly recommend taking a room on a high floor facing the back. The lobby common space is well put, comfortable for both relaxing and work time. The little cafe is OK, but has limited options. The roof top restaurant and bar are great. We stayed for several days, then left for three days to visit another city before returning back to stay at the hotel, and were disappointed that the hotel could not store our bags for those days away and that the hotel staff mistakenly sent back a package that arrived for us because we checked out, even though we notified them upfront that the package is coming in. Overall, we enjoyed the trip, but felt that the hotel has areas for improvement that would make us feel better about the stay.

We stay at Kimpton's all over the world and always have had good experiences. This is a nice hotel in heart of theatre district. It’s very close to all tourist hot spots and a short walk to the subway. The rooftop bar was great for breakfast and to grab a cocktail. Only drawback is that the rooms are a bit small if traveling with more than 2 guests.
