Ok stay.

The room could have been cleaner. We stayed in 2307…all of the rooms ending 07 are next to the elevators and they run up and down late into the night. They are noisy and it sounds like a wind storm outside. Not the best rooms in the hotel. Also, the elevators were very crowded and it takes a lot of time to leave your floor or return to your room.Location relative to everything NYC was the best part of the hotel.

So-so stay in great location

There were many great things about our stay, specifically the location, service and property amenities. However several aspects need to change before we would ever stay again. The bed side tables were so small and had ginormous shaded lamps that took over the entire space, leaving no room for bottles of water or books to read at night. There was quite a bit of wasted space in that way - including a random entertainment center lamp that was directly next to a tall shaded floor lamp, with a ton of random corner space and no other sitting space except a small chair that was good for a purse only. The bathroom ventilation was so poor our room stayed damp, which prevented our towels from drying g properly to be able to reuse them. And the sound of other hotel room doors slamming through the night woke us up every single time. The doors only slam - they do not have a soft close whatsoever, so at 2 am on a Saturday, guests who have been out come back and their doors all slam shut. The room also doesn’t come with a hair dryer, and you can only have ice delivered - there is no easy ice function. Lastly the elevators were the most frustrating, often causing us to have to wait 10 minutes (no exaggeration here) for an elevator, even though there were 5 or 6 bays, we waited forever for a single opportunity to go down to the lobby.

Almost Perfect

I would’ve said my stay here was excellent were it not for the issue with elevator wait times. There were times when we had to wait over 5 minutes for an elevator because apparently only 2 of the 6 were working. In a hotel that large you need at least 4 to keep up with regular traffic. Staff were exceptional and the room/location were amazing. It’s right on the edge of Central Park (South end). It’s right near everything like 5th Avenue shopping, Broadway, and Times Square. I would stay here again, and I do recommend it even with the elevator issues.

The Park Lane is excellent overall. A great location, hotel is well presented and photos of the property do not do it justice - the Darling rooftop area, 2nd floor restaurant and Rose Lane bar are all great with lovely and attentive staff who really look after guests and provide great service. The room was great, much larger than expected and with amazing views over Central Park. However, the air conditioning did not work at all in our room and no matter the outside temperature the the room was very hot and uncomfortable despite the hotel providing fans to help cool the room - various explanations were given by staff, none of which really made sense, but tbh at this price point I just really expect the AC to work and not to be hot and sweaty in my hotel room. I stayed in late April/early May and can only imagine how hot it gets during summer. Lifts were a bit slow but not too bad. Overall I enjoyed the Park Lane, we did a bit of light celeb spotting in the lobby and bar, we loved the staff, the overall vibe and would definitely stay again if we could be assured that air con issues were fixed.
