I love the SoHo Grand!

it may be my favorite hotel. Nothing else has it's feel--the spaces are amazing. The building itself is architecturally interesting, and the designers have surpassed that. It's nicely situated, such that I've always had great views overlooking the tops of other low-rise manhattan buildings, and it has all the amenities most other hotels overlook, e.g. shower caps. Finally it's well lighted even though the decor is darkish.

Mixed Feelings

Location is great-walk to great shopping and restaurants. Front desk personnel and Doormen were all excellent. The lounge service was terrible--she took our order, and never saw her again--no one stopped to re-fill my coffee; and had to get up and go into the bar to get me check. I don't know if it's a NYC thing, but no coffee maker in the room--and I like my coffee first thing in the morning! Also, fire alarm went off at 7:00 a.m. due to "laundry room steam"--and still being on California time (4:00 a.m.) I was not happy to be blasted out of bed.

Loved this hotel

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We loved the Soho Grand Hotel. Staff was very attentive and friendly, and the view from our room was gorgeous. The rooms were quite small, but that is to be expected in NYC.

Service was cordial and professional, restaurant expensive

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: $95 for breakfast is ridiculous
We ordered a normal breakfast - an omelet with a side of bacon, poached eggs on toast with a side of bacon, juice and coffee. With tip, breakfast was $95. That is outrageous even for NY. We liked the hotel very much but we won't eat there again. Maid service was very good and the room was very clean. The bed was excellent.

Great Location & upscale accommodations. I had a wonderful stay!!

Pros: great location
The Soho Grand provided helpful staff, comfortable beds and great concierge recommendations. It has a modern and trendy vibe. I had a lots of fun. It rained on the day we were leaving and they provided really substancial umbrellas to take out in the city. This was a nice touch.
