They have a check in you can do online but we checked in at the front desk. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Room was clean and a good size. Great location to all sorts of sightseeing adventures. Park in front of the hotel to check in and then there is a parking lot around the corner in/out privileges. Since the upgrades have been done it really is that much nicer.

The staff were highly exceptional! Things are never perfect in any hotel. The decor, choice of pictures, smooth check in/ checkout and amenities were well worth it! We have stayed in four other places in Victoria with beautiful harbour views. I will say this hotel seemed to have the easiest walk around location for everything. Beautiful heritage building and happy to stay there. Thank you

There was a receptionist who had black hair. He was fully patient and polite, providing excellent customer service and making our journey memorable and convenient. I appreciate all his help and will give him 5 out of 5 stars.

At strathcona hotel victoria for two nights. Second night at 10:30 a drunk man broke into the room my daughter and I were staying in . Door was shut and I had assumed it would lock with card key entry as in other hotels so not bolted. I quickly rose to confront him yelling at him to get out, he was not comprehensible but did leave ( closing the door) then got in again a few minutes later-- I assume the card key for his room let him into ours? I again confronted him as he babbled, chased him out of the room bolted and barricaded the door with furniture from the room. Called the desk who got security who came and never spoke to me tho I could hear them laughing with the drunk outside my door. The desk then called me back and insisted it was my fault as we had not closed the door "properly ". Apparently the drunk didn't close it properly as he left the first time either? There was no follow up from management despite my bringing the incident up again at check out the next am. I will never stay at Strathcona hotel in Victoria again nor should any woman. It is seedy and unsafe despite being as expensive as nearby more professional hotels I have stayed in while traveling to Victoria.

Nice place in a good central location. Service was good, we were upgraded from a one queen to a two queen room at no charge. Room was fine but a bit dated- TV, loud AC, and bathroom especially could use an update. We appreciated that there was no carpet in the room. Only real issue was the sound isolation is not great- we could hear every noise in the hallway from inside our room. Asked for late check-out (1.5-2hs) but couldn't do it without additional fee.
