In need of a remodel

Everything is very dated and tired looking. When we arrived, my youngest commented, "I feel like we are in a Scooby Doo movie" After checking in, I was disappointed to find out that the included, full breakfast (a main feature/choice when booking hotels) was downgraded to continental (and it turned out to be very poor quality, didn't even have apples or bananas). We actually didn't even bother with it the second morning. I even overheard other guests (at the breakfast/first day) discussing the poor condition of the hotel. The room was musty/damp smelling when we checked in. We past another BW 7min down the road, and regretted not booking there.

After entering our room with the manager and cleaners in the hallway who offered to assist with luggage, after about 15 minutes a worker entered our room having just seen us enter a few minutes previously and then the manager was trying to open our door after seeing us enter and also right outside our door when the worker entered. There was a pile of dirty sheets on the floor when we entered our room also that we had to get removed. Breakfast was less than continental with very few choices. Depite raising these issues upon check out, no offer of any kind of discount was made either.

Travelled as a family with parents and a toddler. Overall, a comfortable and nice stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is decent. The patio area is nice and open. However, the property is old and needs upkeep. The overall cleanliness can be improved too- there were cobwebs in the corners of our room. The drains in my parents' room was clogged and gave a foul smell. Good option for a short stay!

Overall, the stay was pleasant. However, the property would benefit from some updates, as many features appear outdated and show noticeable signs of wear and tear. Our room was located on the main floor near the vending machine area, which had a strong, unpleasant odor that spread throughout the hallway. While staff were informed about the smell, it's unclear if any action was taken to address it. With some refurbishment and attention to maintenance, the overall guest experience could be significantly improved.
