"Happy with choice!"
Hotel on very north end of city. 3 blocks to subway/streetcars. VERY walkable/upscale (Ferrair/Mazeratti dealership) area with lots of shops, boutiques and eaterys. Whole Foods next door. I agree with pervious comments about possible needs for renovations to the room - but you are not visiting Toronto to STAY in the room folks. Our room was large - explosed brick wall behind headboard which allowed us not to hear neighbors as we are prone to do in even the most expensive hotels. Bed was extremely firm (actually felt more like box springs) but not uncomfortable. Manager is committed to making stays in hotel positive and responds to online posts in appreciative manner (rare). No pool, but we didn't miss it as we were thoroughly enjoying this fine city and all it has to offer. Wifi was available; we were able to park behind hotel (fee - as in almost all hotels here). Breakfast was available but we did not partake. No view, but again...we were experiencing the sights. AC worked great! Second visit to Toronto and although much farther out from lakefront than last time, this was just as nice and allowed us more $$ to spend in other ways.

"Great Home Away From Home!"
Stayed here last year and was delighted to see Daniel and Ruby behind the desk when I arrived! I was dropped off before noon with my luggage and was surprised and so very happy that they were able to accommodate my check in immediately.... They also upgraded my room to provide a washer/dryer! The renovation I experienced some of last year but the new exterior door and windows made the room soundproof in spite of construction nereby.. For the first time ever a hotel delivered a gift basket to my room! What a wonderful surprise! Certainly makes a guest feel special. The full kitchen makes a huge difference in having the comforts of home. There is a boutique supermarket on Boor St Longos, about a five minute walk from the hotel. Asparagus with hollandaise, veal marinara and a risotto asiago cake ready to warm up for $10.00. The subway at Bloor and Yonge St. is less than a ten minute walk. You couldn't ask for a better location near Yorkville, dept stores and Toronto·s finest shops. My stay could not have been better!

"Decent Hotel for a Good Price"
We chose to stay at the Royal Oak Inn because of how cheap it was, as well as its reasonably close distance to nearby destinations such as the Distillery District and Yonge-Dundas Square (a walk we made at least 5 times). The rooms are all you would expect and nothing more or less - its two beds, and a bathroom. Our room was on the third floor meaning that we had access to two of the dormers, the downside was one of them was in the shower and I hit my head on it several times (and im not even that tall: 5' 10"). Beds were tolerable, but not great. "Free continental breakfeast" was nothing to write home about: bananas, doughnuts, toast/waffles, and cereal. The MOST important thing any perspective guests need to know is where to park. take a left onto Dundas and drive until you hit Regent St. and look for blue "P" inscribbed in a circle, then take a left and the entrance to the underground parking lot is right there. The rates are fare and its a close walk to the hotel.

"Hotel Review"
The two receptionists I encountered were beyond wonderful. The hotel is in need of (or in the midst of) repair and updating. There was no elevator available, so they switched me to a room on the ground level. Great having free shuttle to and from the airport, plus free breakfast. I had an earlier departure, so the receptionist encouraged me to take something with me from the breakfast bar, even though it didn't open until a few more hours. I would go back there again, and I did feel it was very clean, but seemed old and damp

"Clean rooms and friendly service"
Nothing eventful on this visit. Room was ready on check in without issue. Stayed two different nights. First night I was in the newer side, upon return my room was in the older side. These rooms smelled more of smoke and the heater was not working, once I was moved to a room in the newer section my stay was fine. I would recommend this hotel for the price and location to the airport.

"Excellent staff, superior room"
This little gem of a hotel is tucked away, off the highway. It's sparkling clean with a great comp breakfast. But above all, it's the staff who make this place so special! The desk clerk is a concierge, going far above to help you have a great stay. We felt like we were their most important guests, even before we got there, with their advice and friendly suggestions. Access to the GO train makes it a perfect Toronto hotel!

"Hotel was very convenient to the downtown Toronto "
Convenient to many local attractions. Hotel parking was a plus, except when I went to leave the parking lot I was charged more than I had understood at the desk. The receptionist at the desk led me to believe that parking was $10.00 for our time there and I was charged an additional 20 dollars. All and all the room was nice, bed was comfortable, bathroom was o.k. I would stay again. Thanks

"ITS A OK PLACE TO STAY."
THIS HOTEL IS LOCATED BY THE AIRPORT, AND EASY TO GET TO DOWNTOWN. THERE IS A VERY LARGE DIRT PILE A CONSTRUCTION CO. IS MAKING, AND DIRT IS EVERYWHERE. MY CAR WAS COVERED EVERY MORNING WITH DIRT. I KNOW ITS NOT THE HOTEL'S FAULT,BUT I STILL DIDN'T LIKE IT. THE HOTEL WAS NICE, THE AC WORKED GOOD, WHICH WAS NEEDED WHEN I WAS THERE. THE TOWELS LEAVE A LOT TO BE DESIRED.
