Overall, this is a great historic property, but it is in definite need of upgrades. It says it is a 4-star hotel; I would say 3 stars at best. Def should not be a VIP propery. The room window units did not keep the room cool enough. It was a very wet cool too. The room smelled of mildew when we came in. Not a pleasant greeting! The sheets felt like mainly polyester, which kind of made the moist air that much more unpleasant. Pillows were very thick. There was no air on in our second room, so it was miserably hot on arrival. Bathrooms need a deep clean/updating. The staff was nice. The $12 parking fee with no notice is ridiculous for guests to pay.

I enjoyed my stay. the decor was eclectic and fun - as a boutique should be. the coffee and made to order breakfast options were a bonus. it was convenient and met the needs. i will say the AC was way too loud. buy i will take loud and working vs none.
