We stayed in the room with access from the third floor via circular stairs - beautiful view and private balcony.
Continental breakfast was only toast, coffee and tea.
Could have had some fruit...
This property is good for those wanting to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun. It is super close (under 5 min walk) to the ferry port and itâs close a really good restaurant called San Remo, which was great!
Receptionist was sleeping on the front desk when we arrived, after taking a few moments to wake up he showed us to our room. The room was not clean, shower water smelled like sewer water and the heat setting knob, in the shower was rusted stuck. The bed was comfortable and clean. Dogs were barking in the alley all night, We also realized Puerto Juarez isnât somewhere you would stay for vacation. There are no restaurants or anything in this area, and as a gringo I probably wouldnât be walking around there after dark. The âcontinental breakfastâ consisted of white bread and coffee/orange juice. The pictures show a hotel right on the beach, but it isnât somewhere you can go swimming.
We were planning on staying 3 nights but checked out the next morning for a resort hotel in the Zona Hotelera, in a completely different price range, you get what you pay for.
We asked for an early checkout and the money back for the next two nights, but they told us it was not possible, they probably told Hotels.com we fulfilled our entire stay.
This hotel is right around the corner from the ferry to Isla Mujeres. After a long flight, Casa Caribe was a perfect stop before heading to the island the next day. There was a lot of construction in the area due to hurricane damage. Be aware that "breakfast included" means toast, coffee and juice but the family will make you a more substantial breakfast for a very low cost.
This place is perfect for those who don't want to be on a resort or in the busy hotel zone.
The place is old and showing signs of wear, but the outdoor area was beautiful, right on the water and next door to the Isla Mujeres ferry. Lots of excellent local places to eat that are very close and reasonably priced.
Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for a more authentic mexico experience than the resort life, then this is the place for you.
