Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

Lovingly referred to as La Perla de Occidente, or "The Pearl of the West," Guadalajara serves as one of the most culturally significant cities in all of Mexico. Flights to Guadalajara come in through the Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (GDL), but they do very little to prepare you for the amazing experience you'll soon be having. Whether you want to see a soccer game in one of the most important "football" stadiums in Latin America or are more interested in the natural beauty that surrounds the area, you will not be let down. In fact, due to the amazing sites, you'll feel that cheap flights to Guadalajara are the only "cheap" part of your incredible trip.
Your best transportation option may be to opt for hotels near Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport. Many of these hotels, especially those that are American owned, will provide complimentary shuttle services from the airport. If this isn't an option, you can head out of Terminal 1 at either end and find taxi kiosks whose cabs have set prices. If you'd like to immediately immerse yourself with the locals, you could also opt for bus transportation. The express route buses will have "Chapala" written along the sides, but the city bus routes will be far less expensive. If you manage to fly on low-priced Guadalajara flights, though, the extra expense shouldn't be too bad.
There's no shortage of great sites to visit in what's also become known as the "Silicon Valley of Mexico." The Estadio Jalisco can hold you and 54,499 of your closest friends for a soccer match. You can also get a taste of natural history by visiting the Regional Museum of Guadalajara, better known by the locals as Museo Regional de Guadalajara. To make sure you have plenty of spending money, though, look for vacation packages to Guadalajara from Travelocity. Save up to $537 when you book a hotel and flight at the same time with these packages. That's a lot of walk-around cash.
