Excellent location and good clean pool. But the room has outdated furniture, a tiny TV, no normal clothes hangers (maybe 3 or 4, the ones they give you for free from Dry cleaners), a small refrigerator without a freezer with a temperature higher than 42, and no coffee maker or microwave. Very uncomfortable setup. The room is a good size for all of it.

Clean and Friendly

This is the second time staying at La Avenida Inn. It is a clean friendly no frills motel perfectly located on Coronado Island. I am a marathon swimmer who also kayaks for other swimmers when swimming around the island. If I were coming on vacation I might spend a little more for a hotel with a few more amenities but La Avenida suits my purposes fine. Most importantly the beds are comfy and the staff is very friendly. Also, all the fun stuff on the island is within walking distance.

We have stayed at La Avenida several times over the years. It is conveniently located and reasonably priced for Coronado. We were sad to hear that the property has been sold and will close PERMANENTLY at the end of August.

Very convenient but needs updates

The hotel is in need of some updates, bathroom remodel, furniture. It was clean but the service was spotty as they did not have enough staff on hand.

The location was excellent. It was in walking distance to a lot of restaurants. We had three kids with us and were placed on the second floor with no elevator. We are strong and managed but when the key had to be reprogrammed EVERY day it became frustrating. The front desk employee stated it was policy that the key had to be reprogrammed daily. Another nuisance was the fact that in order to get our car on property we had to pull over a busy sidewalk and move a couple of parking cones out of the way. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked but the room was run down. Bath tub wouldn’t plug up to hold water. Toilet ran constantly. We stayed four nights and housekeeping NEVER entered our room to empty trash, refresh towels or restock toilet paper. The pool was clean.

My only not complaint but I guess it is a complaint is that there were not very many outlets in the room. My friend had her phone her. Watch her CPAP machine and I had a phone to charge and there weren't very many outlets in the room. I know that's not ever going to be able to be changed but that was our only concern.

High hopes, but dissappointed

I had high hopes for this place because it looks so cute on the outside but for the $300+ price I paid for a single king room, it was terrible. The walls had been patched with paint that just a bit off from the main wall color. There was no headboard so bed was just pushed up to the wall. The sheets felt thin and old. The furniture looked like it had been picked up from a thrift shop--the wood was aged, warped and or scratched, and the upholstery on the only chair was worn and dirty. I will say that the floors and bathroom looked clean which I would say is the only positive -- plus it's location. Do not recommend.

The property is in a good area on the strip pool was nice. Don’t stay in 111 or 211 the room is right next to post office and they make real loud noise from 1 am to 7am non stop every night.
