This is billed as a no smoking hotel, Well we had to change rooms because our first 4 smelled so bad. The plumbing is NOT good for anyone over 60, No grab bars on tub/shower. The carpet was suspect. There was NO Security. The front door, was proped open all night. The front desk was often not staffed We had an issue with the key card. It only worked once, then we had to have a new one made, as the first one no longer worked.

This is non smoking. Most of the rooms stink of past smokers. The bathroom tub or showers do not have grab bars. Hard to enter or exit the tin. Soap/ shampoo is so small only one person can use them.

Couldn't beat the price, but with that comes why it is priced this way. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt considering we were told at check in that they were going to remodel and there was trailers on the property that I have seen at other establishments when remodeling is taking place. I re considered when two couples with children were parked next to us and discovered a needle in the landscaping. I know these situations cannot be controlled, but it is the responsibility of the Hotel to check landscaping for trash and other things such as needles. I couldn't let it go. I worked in the restaurant industry and I do understand that in public establishment you cannot also control every situation. other than the coffee being awful I have no other complaints.

It was adequate and okay for the price point. The tub didn’t drain very well so ankle depth water during shower. Sheets were clean, but full layer of dust on top and back of tv, on top of lamps, headboard, and all pictures. Carpet behind tv stand never say a vacuum. Check in receptionist was unapologetically rude. The pool area and hot tub were nice. Outdoor area was cute and nice but could use some attention with cleaning maintenance. Outdoor cushions desperately need replaced. Breakfast for entire hotel was only 1 hour long from 8-9. Like I said it was adequate for $100/night and pleasant enough, but room felt kind of dirty overall and I do not plan to stay here again. I wished that I had payed a bit more and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express where I have stayed before and had fabulous experience.

Stayed here for a championship swim meet weekend. Started off with there being a pile of dirty towels in the closet and half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom for 3 of us. Went down the first morning at 8:15 for breakfast and there was almost nothing left. Everything in this hotel is old and run down. Prices were jacked up do to an event in town. The room next to us smoked weed all night and when I complained to the front desk they didn't seem to care much. The only positive is that the front desk people were polite and friendly. I would not stay here again.

I tried to like it!

The bathroom was not clean when we got there, but they were able to hand us towels. The fights in the other rooms were a little much. The bug in the toilet was gross. The breakfast was not ready enen an hour after serving time. On day two housekeeping entered and put towls down with a do not disturb sign on door and i told her i would go down to get towels. Not fun or comfortable. Desk staff was nice.

More attentive management reqd.

Stayed 5 nights. No towel changes, sheet changes, used towel pickup or trash pickup in the room. Frequent outages of plates, orange juice, apple juice, sausage and plastic utensils for breakfast. Same scrambled eggs and sausage everyday for breakfast except the last day a fried egg option was offered. Ice machine was broken , staff had a non public stash of ice but was stingy doling it out. Had to ask for wash cloths, staff said they were out but then always were able two magically find two. Pool water was cool, 5 degrees warmer would be nice. On the positive side, staff was nice, outdoor siting area with grill was nice, room was clean/ spacious, room was quiet at night.

Everything was great. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was plentiful, well stocked and managed. The only issue we had was the bathtub had a clog, so when taking a shower it filled quick. Made staff aware at check out.

Worst experience ever!!! Front desk Lynn, and other staff members very rude and no customer service skills at all! Don't seem to care or make a effort to change rooms when giving guests filthy rooms with no working lights, toilet paper or towels upon check in!!! Would not even recommend to a homeless person!

The included breakfast option was good. There was a weird smell in the room, it was very run down, patches in the wall, scratched up furniture, stains on lamp shades, and the carpet was so gross that white socks were almost black after walking on it. There were no hair dryers which was a bummer. Most places provide hair dryers. We witnessed one couple leaving and saying they were not staying and wanted their money back.

Walked in to the front door open. The front desk guy look like he eas on Crack. Checked us in and we went to our room. Ipened the room door and the carpet had a tear in it. The room smelled AWFUL a good combination of cigarette smoke and old people or mold. We instantly walked back to the desk. The guy offered a new room but sorry firt impression matters. Definitely dont recommend

It was cheap...and that's what it was

Stayed 3 nights, A/C didn't work right in the 1st room. Night clerk stated there was nothing that could be done that they were sold out and that he would tell the manager in the morning so we suffered thru the 1st night. Got back to the hotel the 2nd night and asked the same night clerk what he found out, he forgot, and then went and spoke with the manager we got a different room with working A/C and it was ok. Hotel is old ALOT of things are broke, EX outer door locks, ice machines, the A/C in the public areas, bathroom fans don't work, shower drains are slow, no bath towels in the rooms upon arrival. Breakfast ran out of something everyday and there were still a ton of people waiting to eat. And for crying out loud get a scrapper for the waffle iron!! The cheapest plastic fork known to man was not intended to remove a waffel from a smolering hot pan. Other then that not bad, it was cheap and the bed was comfy.

The toilet was broken in two places after check in. We called the front desk, the told us noone there could fix it. We took the back off the toilet, used a coat hanger because of all the mold, and reattached the chain. Then we had to use a lot of tape the chain connector that was rusty to make it flush. A gentleman at the front desk told my husband to do what he could to fix it. There was someone else's dirty clothes under the nightstand. Upon check in, we were told "they hoped the room was clean enough"?!?! We were in town for our daughters select softball tournament and it was an awful experience. There was no ice any day we were there, there was a sign to go to the front desk for ice. Both mornings before 8 am we tried to get ice from the front desk and were told there was "no ice" to put in her water bottle. The heat was close to 100. Also the chair in the room was gray on the top and looked like it soiled with something disgusting. We took multiple pictures, it was a horrible experience! Don't waste your money!!

More value for your money!

We stayed for one week for a conference. Great and helpful staff. Loved the lady who runs the breakfast, and the housekeepers did a wonderful job. Rooms are clean and well-maintained. Pool and hot tub are clean and much appreciated at the end of a long day. Great for families, as it is in a safe part of town, affordable and clean. Thank you so much, White Pines, for making our stay in Holland such a pleasant one!
