Never had such rude front desk and service in all my travels! Problems: parking, internet, tv, front desk, check out. They lost power and we had no flushing toilet or water to brush teeth.
The house is old. The shower water faucet is leaking and dripping water made a bit of noise during the night. The dinner we got there is not very good. Also, the house lost power during the second night we stay and there was not water no power. We left earlier in the morning.
The view of the bay was great. Otherwise the in should be called the do drop in and way overpriced. Lodging and restaurant

Charming Inn but really needs complete renovation in the rooms. Other downstairs area were okay. Great view. Restaurant was very nice. Food was very good.
Good luck with the renovations! Will try to get back to see the finished product.

The property was recently sold and the kitchen is shutting down in a few days. They no longer make popovers. We should have been notified especially since I made dinner reservations months ago. I found that to be very cheap and disappointing and dishonest
We were advised a wedding would take place during our stay. We were not anticipating drunk guests yelling, talking loudly that we could hear as if in our room while they were in the parking lot and hallway. We had a bedroom with obvious leak & mold damage. Breakfast was terrible. There was not adequate staff. Our room was not properly prepared for us. I emailed management & was told that we were notified of the wedding, which we were, however, we did not appreciate door slamming, foul language, obnoxious belching until after midnight. I would not recommend at all.
Beautiful older hotel with lovely grounds, a gorgeous front porch, and a lovely view from the back deck overlooking the water. Just a great place overall.

Staff was amazing - everyone was so polite and helpful. The place was very clean, beds were very comfortable, breakfast had great selection and was good, and restaurant had good selection and good food. I would stay here again and recommend to family and friends.
The pods we stayed in where of poor condition and not clean. Service and food was good. The hotel needs some work and better upkeep.

The Asticou was one of the earliest area lodges (1880's). It's historic and grand, though dated and needing some repair. We had a lovely corner suite with a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom had a ceiling leak by the window from Hurricane Lee and related heavy rain. The staff were apologetic and great, and explained that the hotel is closing very soon (October), for a 1-2 year full renovation and updating. It is a lovely old lodge with beautiful surroundings, away from the crowds of Bar Harbor in picturesque (and quieter) Northeast harbor. Accessing all of the park was easy. The Continental breakfast was terrific. Dining rooms are bright and look out onto the lawn and bay. We had one dinner at the restaurant and it was fine. We did not use the pool but it was in the lawn and looked inviting.
Be aware that NONE of the buildings have AC of any kind. You're lucky if you have a box fan in the room. You're also lucky if the window screens don't have any holes and if your doors close properly. The "cottages" are run down and in sad need of a makeover as does the whole property. The breakfast is a true Continental breakfast with the only hot things being coffee/tea. The pastries are store bought as is the fruit salad. The berries seemed to be fresh. Hard cooked eggs are provided - the only protein besides the yogurt.

The inn is quite nice in general, but unfortunately the bathroom had mould around the bathtub and the toilet had very prominent yellow staining. Both were a turn off for us. We also feel that a television could be provided in the room to improve the amenities. The restaurant is very good and the service overall is also very good.
Beautiful surroundings. The hotel is one of the first in this area, and reflects that. Not well maintained inside (peeling wallpaper, scuffed paint, very shabby cottages not updated since pre-manufactured in the 70’s). Restaurant has great views from the deck.

No kitchen service AT ALL on Tuesday. Pool area with limited seating, not warm. Rooms were neat and clean but could use maintenance like paint, wallpaper issues. No TV. No AC. Many hikers, bikers, and outdoor people, it would have been nice to have an area where you could refill your water.
If you enjoy old hotels with a personality and not a lot of bells and whistles, this a unique hotel with a vintage feel. The location is quiet and in a serene setting. Rooms are small but comfortable- no a/c but you don’t really need it for summer nights in Acadia. There’s a great front porch to read and enjoy coffee or a glass of wine and the dining balcony offers a great view of Northeast Harbor. The staff could’ve been more welcoming - no one we encountered seemed to like their job or want to be there. We had no idea breakfast was included with our stay until the day we left and inquired about coffee. It’s too bad the staff aren’t more accommodating because they set the vibe for the hotel. It could be so much more of a destination gem if staff were hospitable & welcoming.
Great older property with some history and furniture to match. Staff was nice and helpful. Wish they had a good path down to the water. Would stay here again.
