Step inside this adorable cabin and feel stress slip away. With gorgeous ocean views from the living room and kitchen you can enjoy wave watching no matter what the weather! When you are ready to play or just stroll, beach access is just steps away. This newly remodeled home is ideal for couples or small families.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy meals together. There are two cozy bedrooms each with queen sized beds and cottage like charm. Each room provided with extra blankets and pillows to make you comfy while you drift off to sleep listening to the hum of the ocean. The main bathroom is conveniently close to the master bedroom and has a spa like feel, complete with a river rock flooring in the shower to massage those tired feet. Additional bathroom is located downstairs with easy access from outside to wash off sand after a day on the beach.
Stormy weather? No problem, just add another log on the fire in the wood burning fireplace, grab a good book or watch movies with free WiFi /Cable or DVD player.
The heart of downtown Rockaway is less than a mile away, with several shops and restaurants within walking distance.
No matter what time of year, this charming cottage will make you feel right at home!

Cracker Box Palace was no cracker box! It was beautifully decorated and so very clean! We felt like we were the first to stay in your home complete with all the comforts of home. Our only complaint was we were unable to stream any TV and we were not familiar with how to operate Roku.

Exactly what you expect

Perfect house at a great price. We spent a day crabbing in nehalem bay which was a short drive away. The walk to the beach is a breeze (unless you have stability problems). We plan to return to this house for our next crabbing trip. Great kitchen setup and the open layout is great for families. Thanks!

Lovely home steps from the beach

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is just steps away from the beach with a great view from the common areas. The host put much thought into making the home comfortable and welcoming. It has a split heat pump to keep the home warm and cooled, as well as a fireplace for those cool wintery days. Town is just down the street and there are plenty of restaurants both in town and near by. A couple of grocery stores as well with reasonable prices for items you might have forgotten. We will definitely return.

We stayed on the coast for 4 nights before dropping our kids off at college. The cottage was quaint and quiet, close to a cute city with cafes and boutique shops. The host was very responsive and we had a nice stay.

So terrific! Cracker Box Palace is special. Comfortable, inviting and user friendly. Please don’t tell anyone about Rockaway Beach. It is a treasure with plenty of restaurant opinions and friendly people. Plus you can visit the busy tourist attractions to the north and south.

What it doesn't show is that the path to the beach is quite steep. Being in our 70's that was a bit of a surprise. Husband could not get down to the beach and the only reason I could is that my 22 year old grandson walked ahead of me and we took it one step at a time.

Cute, Clean, and Cozy Beach Home

Super cute, clean, and cozy beach home. Loved the interior decor and the proximity to the beach - just a quick walk across the little neighborhood street, down a very short path, then down rock stairs to the beach. The home is very close to the little town of Rockaway, too - maybe half a mile(?) There are two queen beds in their own bedrooms, and one full bathroom. (Also a basement bathroom option, but we personally didn't need it). Fabulous ocean views from the kitchen/dining and the family room. We would stay here again.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the crackerbox house. It is very close to the beach, the house was charming, quaint and well laid out. My only feedback for improvement would be to get a more robust selection of kid’s games and 2 more beach chairs. For those that like to watch movies, there was a big selection if available movies. (We never turned on the TV but presumably that all worked).

Quaint and convenient

The house was in a neighborhood of beach homes and very close to the beach. We had a nice view of the sunset through the windows. It was very clean and had all the amenities one would expect. A slight drawback was the nearby neighbors playing music rather loudly, although they turned it off by 10:00. (We were just tired and wanted an earlier bedtime.)
