Hotel is in the Good Shepherd district. Its behind the building. Homeless are everywhere. No mention of the ongoing construction building going on at 7am. Parking area out front is too narrow to park...Hotel gave us a parking permit to park out front bc we had 2 wheelchairs. Hotel did not honor the parking permit, they gave out 3 other permits to visitors yet there were only 3 disability parking spots for 4 passes. So depending on who arrives first,you get parked. My family was at hotel 4 days and 1st one with the permit which meant I was the first to pay parking. When I asked to be moved to a safer parking space in the parking garage I was told it was at capacity due to the Iron man event in the area. I was screwed out of parking with 2 wheelchairs for my last day. I talked and talked with staff, all they offered was to wait for someone to leave! I should have at least been compt 1 day parking fee since I didn't get whst I was promised or what I paid for. If you have wheelchairs or walkers, do not stay at this hotel. They held me hostage with my parking.

The staff was very kind and efficient. The room was perfect for a family of five and a dog, but there was a very strong smell. Kind of like BO mixed with cleaning supplies. The area was great for walking to byward market, but there was a lot of noise overnight of fighting and many homeless around the hotel.

The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The beds however, are hardest rock. I had to order bed toppers from Amazon for our four night day after the first night. Also, it is very noisy at night, sounds like everyone has a hot rod outside. Despite all this, we would go back because the location is excellent, and the staff are great

Our suite was larger than expected, with 2 bathrooms and a small office area. It was clean which was good, but there was a very strong smell of disinfectant. The hall ways were a little weathered, could use a refresh, and they could use more elevators . The parking lot was full so we had to park in another building, but it was still very accessible. The surrounding streets were a little concerning, with lots of people asking for money. Over all a good stay and a reasonable price, we would recommend for families, just because of suite size.

Solid hotel in the heart of Ottawa

Hotel was conveniently located about a block away from Byward Market and the Rideau Centre mall. It was a short walk to the nearby Rideau LRT station, and was close to many attractions, including the Rogers Centre, the Rideau Canal and Parliament. Hotel was generally clean, but when I had to move a TV or a dresser to get access to a plug, there was considerable dust. Otherwise, bed was clean, washroom was clean and I had no complaints. Room was very spacious, equipped as shown in the photos. Wifi was also reasonable, but the free version was a bit slow - streaming was still fine, but there was intermittent lag. A paid option for wifi was available, but I did not avail of that opportunity. Staff were friendly and helpful. Kevin was a standout for me as he ran up some fresh towels for me during the night shift. The pool is oddly located on the 5th floor, as is the gym, but both seem to do the job. The gym does get busy during the day. Breakfast is not included, but with the kitchenette, it was easy enough to walk to the Metro grocery store about 2 blocks away and buy food for the mornings. Overall, a good stay.

Great location. Close to Rideau Centre, Byward Market restaurants, shopping and bars/pubs. Walkable to just about anywhere. Clean and comfy rooms. Beds were amazingly comfortable which made for a good sleep.

We had a wonderful stay here and were thrilled to be given an upgraded room with double washrooms for our family of six! The kitchen was an added bonus and helped with making simple meals too. The pool was also a nice amenity to have although it was a bit musty and seemed to be busy most of the times we were in it. Hotel location is close enough to walk to downtown sites like the Byward Market, the Canal and Parliament, although the area around the hotel was a bit grungy and some rougher people in the neighbourhood. Would be nicer if parking was included in the stay! Overall we had a great stay, and would stay here again! Thanks so much.
