Great Budget Hotel

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, kitchenette and balcony, good $ for underground parking.
Cons: none if accept this is not "total luxury" .
For those looking for a safe/clean/well located hotel, for a great price, look no further. If luxury is your need, this isn't your place, but that is not to say there is anything wrong with this hotel. I would gladly return, it delivered as promised, and more than met any reasonable expectation of a budget hotel. Add in the "suites" and the location, and it is an amazing value.

It's fine, but NOT the Embassy Suites!

Pros: Cheap, comfortable, full kitchen.
Cons: Ugly decor from 1985.
The title of this hotel is misleading. It is not the same thing as the Embassy Suites, owned by Hilton. Did not realize when I booked! Overall we had a pleasant stay. Our room had a walk in closet and a full kitchen, so those were definite pluses! Location was slightly out of the way, but still walkable to everywhere we needed to go. The only bad thing about this hotel is that the decor has literally not been updated since 1985. I felt like I was in a time warp, back to my childhood on vacation with my parents. It ain't got not alibi, if you know what I mean. UGLY! Honestly, knowing that the hotel is old school, it would be great for hipsters looking to stay someplace ironically! We made the most of it. Those driving to Ottawa should note that parking is limited. We got the very last space! Everything was very clean, and all the appliances worked. Room was spacious and comfortable, so if your eyes are closed, it's a great place to stay! I really have no complaints, other than the decor.

Awesome for the price. Close to Parliament hill.

Pros: close to the center of the tourist areas
Cons: Add the parking fee into the hotel bill. Separate billing item seems cheap and underhanded.
Location: Capital city, tourist area.
Clean and very well taken care of hotel. In a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to shops and dinner.

Hotel looks like it was an old apartment converted into a hotel. The staff is pretty friendly, but the hotel looks pretty run down. The carpets smelled sour. The suites are a good size, but it had a weird smell to it. There were sticky spots and stains on the carpet. Gross. Our room was extremely hot. We tried turning the AC up but it didn't work, so it was pretty uncomfortable. We did have a balcony, but we weren't able to go onto it. The screen door had rusted shut and wouldn't move. It was open slightly so we could even leave it open at night for a cool breeze, or bugs would get in. I will say it's location is pretty good. It's a 15 minute walk to Parliament. And 20 minutes to the Byward Market. But for an extra 10-20 dollars I'll stay at a nicer hotel even closer next time.

Nice hotel

We stayed overnight to attend a 10k race the next day. Our room was in but it was so hot. I asked the person at the front desk if they could send someone up to check on the thermostat/air conditioning. They did. But it didn't change the room temp at all. Secondly, we were disappointed that there was no mini-fridge in the room. Overall the room was clean but nothing special.

Bed was comfortable and room was clean..But

This is an old building that is undergoing a facelift. Rooms are clean and large. Bathrooms are very small but clean. Staff is very pleasant. Awful odor in the lobby and elevator. No parking, but was able to park on street for free. This Embassy does not live up to the Embassy Suites I have stayed in many times.

Nice convient location for the city.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy
Place is a little worn, but clean. The staff is helpful. The hotel is in a great location for the University, city government and Parliament. The place is a little noisy, there is a new highrise building going up in front of the hotel. Rooms on the west side are very noisy in the morning
