We had a great experience this summer

This hotel was located in a very central location. It catered to our family of four, and provided us with a nice clean room that was comfortable and roomy enough for the 4 of us. We were treated well by the staff, and made to feel important. It was great value for the dollar, and made our stay in the capital a memorable one.

Helps to mitigate Canadian Custom

Pros: Very good location. Clean rooms, professional stuff. Good restaurants, too.
Cons: Everything looked nice to me.
Location: I enjoyed visiting the Parliament, the Museum of History and Canadian Art Gallery
Canadian Custom officers are rude, unprofessional and pushy. Because of me coming to Ottawa on Monday and by my own they decided I was going to work in Canada illegally. They had NO EVIDENCE to suspect this, so they went through my personal emails, called my supervisor here in the US and accused me of lying to them. And nobody apologized when they did not find anything wrong. After that introduction to the Canadian capital the hotel with its competent and polite stuff was a pleasant surprise.

Dear Irina, We are delighted that your stay in Ottawa’s Castle was a memorable one. However, we do regret the poor impression you received upon your arrival into Canada. I assure you that your experience is certainly not typical. We hope you return one day soon. Sincerely, Shawn St-Pierre Director of Operations

Trans Canada Road Trip

The chauteau was a wonderful experience. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They made us feel like royalty (as they sometimes do for real) and had everything just right. The bar/restauranr is a wonderful place to sit and relax, we would have hung out there, but Ottawa was typo beautiful to ignore. I would highly recommend the chauteau for your trip there.

Our first trip to Ottawa .

Pros: Any staff services were very timely and efficient .
Cons: Make sure that the room is stocked with the items that it is supposed to have. Have a head house keeper to check up on the room attendants.
Location: Close to the stores and mall was convienent . Museums are close by .
My wife and I were on our honeymoon. I booked our stay there because of the 'castle look" and I call my wife my princess.! And told her that it was her castle. It went over big. She loved it. Anyway,I found the room clean and well stocked with over priced snacks and drinks. We are far from cheap, but could not justify a $9. bottle of water. The check in process went smoothly. The parking situation was explained clearly. The bell-hops were friendly and polite. They are very efficient and do not make you wait a long time to get picked up for checkout either. The room attendant left a little to be desired. One day she didn't leave enough towels. Two of the days, she neglected to leave coffee pods for the room s coffee maker. The wireless internet did not work. I had one of the bell hops come up to the room and try to get it to work ,but they were unable to get it either,so I know that it was not just me. Our cordless hone did not work throughout the stay . I reported it twice and it never got fixed. The bottom line is that the place is located in a great location. The rooms were very clean . We plan on returning there so I would consider staying again. The staff, with the exception of the room attendant , were really attentive and timely when they were needed. . Booking through Travelocity saved us over $300.00 dollars .so that is the way to go !

large downtown Hotel

Pros: location, proximity to the team
Cons: surprising that a large very nice Hotel charges for Internet access. Most quality Hotel chains have discontinued that.
spent the weekend there for the women's World Cup soccer game, US versus China, and both teams stayed there too.

One of the best places I've ever stayed

Pros: Close restaurants, superb professional staff
This historic hotel has a staff that went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Along with being within easy walking distance of shopping and eateries, this hotel itself is a treasure. The food in Wilfred's was amazing. While other hotels use a name or a high price to try to impress, or 'be classy'.... The Chateau Laurier IS.
