All Countries next to the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico are experiencing a wave of seaweed. The conditions are dependent on the currents and weather and can determine the usability of the beach club. We can not control beach conditions but you can monitor the situation on the live WEBCAM on LetsGoPDC.

Winner of Top 25 in Mexico, Top in Luxury, and Top in Romantic, no other condo complex in Playa del Carmen has won all these top three categories. We has also received recognition from The New York Times and USA Today for its design, luxury, and excellence in service as well as received Travelers Choice Awards from 2013-2022.

This is the ONLY CONDO WITH IT'S OWN BEACH CLUB WITH FOOD AND BEVERAGE/RESTAURANT on site. This complex offers the best amenities that Playa has to offer. This complex includes heated pools. You are allowed the use of both facilities in the Beachside & Oceanfront buildings. The Beachside (located in the back of the Oceanfront building) AND WHERE THIS UNIT IS LOCATED..is a smaller, more private property, while the Oceanside (located on the sand), is larger and will have more activity - as well as the on-site restaurant & beach facilities. There is also a spa and full gym with classes.

Please note that the unit sleeps 8 adults with the exception of 2 additional children...One in current bed set up and one in a rollaway bed or crib (additional cost).

This is one of the largest & most unique units of the Beachside complex as it was the developer's personal home. This dream condo has 4 floors of luxury living & tropical elegance. You enter by crossing a small wooden bridge suspended above a large Lilly pond filled w/ Koi fish. The entrance is surrounded by lush tropical plants where you are greeted by an original antique door imported from India. Enjoy an early morning walk on the beach, just a few steps away. Have coffee on your living room terrace overlooking the lush tropical gardens. Your private roof deck is perfect for relaxing with friends and enjoying an afternoon cocktails. There is a BBQ, wet bar, & views of the turquoise Sea. All shops, restaurants & night clubs are located 1-1/2 blocks on 5th Ave.

The condo has 24 hour security & maintenance, w/underground parking for 1 car. Daily maid service.

Absolutely beautiful property and condo. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the pools were gorgeous and the neighborhood is fantastic. We enjoyed our stay very much. Highly recommend!

We had an incredible time. The concierge was beyond amazing. Couldn’t have pulled it all off with a big group of friends without this place. They helped me book a last minute car for a friend with a delayed flight. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you are a group of friends

Perfect for a group with teens

This condo worked perfectly for our two-family trip. It was right in the middle of PdC action, but was still quiet enough to sleep while the party went on over at the clubs. Beds and bedrooms were very comfortable. The staff was wonderful, and super helpful. Loved all the deck options, one on the first floor was covered so we could hang out in the rain, and the hot tub deck had views of the ocean. Hot tub definitely is rough and leaking pretty heavily, but it heated up just fine. Like all the other reviews, the master bathroom shower doesn't seem to be even connected to the hot water heater (never warmed up), but there are 3 other showers in the condo that did heat up. Dishwasher didn't work, but the cleaning staff would wash the dishes if we requested full service. Awesome to have a washer and dryer, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes. The beach at the hotel is non-existent, but we just walked a few blocks north and there was a great beach just north of the Constituyentes dock. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at El Taj and would stay here again.

Great space

Great space for all to enjoy. Lots of balconies and individual space yet large common areas for my 4 adult children in a charming setting. Close proximity to beaches and all Playa Del Chamen has to offer.

Nice unit, perfect for larger groups

Great for sleeping large party, plenty of bathrooms with good bath amenities. Kitchen pervert for cooking in or just preparing leftovers. Only issues were hot tub steps marked off with caution tape and no refrigerator on the deck as listed. Master shower takes 10-15 min to get hot water and then the ability to adjust between hot/cold is tedious at best. My wife took to using another bathroom but that was problematic because another couple was in the queen suite on our floor. Problems reported but not remedied in the 8 days we were there.

Graduation trip

We booked this trip to celebrate our daughters college graduation. The condo was fantastic! Enough rooms for 7 adults to have their own space, but also had a large living room, kitchen and patio space for us to all gather together. The pools were beautiful! It’s conveniently close to all the shopping and restaurants that 5th Avenue has to offer. The concierge helped us reserve a private tour guide to Tulum and then cenote swimming, the highlight of our trip. They also helped arrange private airport transfer. My only complaint is that the beach has eroded and was nonexistent. We were really looking forward to lounging on the beach that was represented in the photos. The hottub needs to be replaced, jets didn’t work, and some dish towels would be helpful in the kitchen. Overall our entire group had a great time!

Great place to stay; excellent service!

Beautiful property and condo... money well spent! Finished with high end materials & furnishings. Great space for our party of 8. We had plenty of room to gather when we wanted to but also ample space when we needed some down time. The beds & bedding were very comfortable. There were some minor upkeep issues, but the El Taj staff was very quick to remedy which I can only assume had been quickly approved by the condo owners. So thank you to all involved! The location was perfect for our older teenage children
they loved being so close to all the action in Playa! My husband and I preferred to stay isolated near the quiet pool. My only complaint would be lack of a beach on the hotel property. Not a huge deal as our children are old enough to walk a little further down to find some sandy, clear waters, but would not have appreciated it if I was trying to tote any smaller children and all their things. All in all, a fun vacation, especially if you want to be close to the action! And to clarify, you are close enough to hear all the dance clubs at night if you are sitting outside, but thanks to a well constructed building and owner provided white noise machines, when you retired for the night, it was very quiet. Thank you for a great stay! The great people of El Taj and all of Mexico did not disappoint.

Amazing place, great location

This is our 4th time staying here and we love it. The absolute best location - so convenient. The staff is very courteous and quick. Pools are great. This unit is laid out perfectly for a big group yet privacy. We loved it so much we bought a unit here for ourselves
