The hotel is rundown and not very clean. The reception staff were not at all flexible at letting us in even a little early to our room despite having had a very long flight and then walking around the city for 6 hours to pass time. The lobby stank of marijuana and the daytime front office staff were not very responsive or helpful. After a very long flight and walking around for 6 hours to pass time I still had to persuade them to let us in the room only half an hour early. The lift is tiny and the air freshener in it so strong that we took the stairs each time. Bedding clean and quite comfy, but the room also smelt quite odd and musty. The location is great but we wouldn’t stay there again.

Beware, top dollar, beside Stanley Park

Looked great from pictures beside beach and Stanley Park 20 min walk to downtown at top dollar. You are paying for the location not the hotel itself. Room was 35 years in the past with many rules posted everywhere.

I would not stay here again. Older, substandard property. Rooms were clean, not much to them. We did have a nice view of the bay from our room but not much else good to say. Lesson learned, spend twice as much and stay somewhere nice.

room was old and a/c did not work. told two people

the room was in front and not updated. the a/c did not work and told the front desk twice and no one came by to check on it. stayed there two nights and not comfortable.

The staff was efficient and cheery at check in and they also allowed us to store our bags at the front desk while we waited for check in time. Allowing us to wander around the city without having to drag our luggage around. The room was clean and smelled nice. The beds were comfortable, and everything worked as it should. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and we felt safe in the area. Definitely would stay there again.

We loved the location as so close to Stanley Park and from our window we could see the english bay beach. Room was very spacious and overall quite clean. if the rooms and the corridor would have some renovation it would be perfect. Prices are quite high in the city so overall it was much cheaper for us.
